Question to devs,Can you promise that the product will be so perfect that ther will be no service packs after the release ?Regards,Tomasz Fiszer.
Simple answer is no because they can't test the product against every possible computer and operating system configuration known to man. That is why after release we see service packs and some updates. It doesn't mean it's a bad product - just that they can't take into account every little difference of every single computer system among customers.

Trust me. Some of these posts dont deserve a microbe of bandwidth

I think some of you guys should grow up a bit. Honestly, I find it hard to believe some of you claim to be grown adults.Maintain a bit of diginity - it is a computer game add-on. You'll be able to tell your sweethearts you're a pretend 737 pilot soon enough, I'm sure they'll still be impressed.

There will be a SP.. They already said that as they do not wish to delay the release longer and implement the multiplayer ability, all products need a SP because times and technology change, it's a matter of if the SP is 250mb to fix 100 problems or 25mb to implement multiplayer capability and touch up a few little things

The point is that year ago, PMDG said the same; We don't want release now, only to release SP in the following months. After all, it's exactly what's gonna happen, and the only difference is a year later, and lots of complaints from fans, not mentioning loss of share in the 737 market.I'm really happy with J41 I bought from PMDG, and I hope 737 will be way better.

Glad you like it!
Rubbish, Disappointed customer base = no profit, or limited profit. It's pure business here, you won't get anything for free. Product is now almost year late, and imagine what will happen if there's any problem with the product after the release; 99.99999% of software has problems, and I'm more than sure that this one will have SP released too. The earlier the product goes beta, the better it is for the product. Nobody can blame for beta issues, but everybody will blame for ANY issues after the release.Tomasz Fiszer
What do you mean rubbish? You assume the only customers are here on the forum. I'm willing to bet it's far more than would grace this forum, first. Those who don't grace the forum are probably just waiting in the shadows, watching for the release, burning time like those here mature enough to know how to handle information provided to us. Second, how can a product that had no release date be late? You really need to take a look at what you're saying before you call what I said rubbish. Third, did we pay for this information? No. It was given, for free, business or not.

Hey everyone. I found this online the other day. It was in a post from when the J41 was in development in late Spring 2009...."We are wrapping up Alpha testing currently, and anticipate putting the airplane to BETA sometime next week. This airplane is pretty well tested already in ALPHA, so we do not anticipate a long BETA process."you can find it here: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/250459-pmdg-j41-night-lighting-preview-and-other-tid-bits/I wasnt into flight simulation back then, so I was wondering if anybody could answer whether or not it really was a short beta? This is similar to what was said about the Wide Beta for the NGX recently. I know obviously they are completely different addons and what is true for one might not be true for the NGX, but hey, I was just wondering....

Daniel Miller

Well, that post was in may, and if I recall correctly the J41 was released in about September. I may be wrong as I didn't follow the development closely,

It's only human nature to ask? Can you give us any insight on what's happening.
Wow: Do you realize that the 737 NGX release posts go all the way back to mid 2008?! I wonder how many new threads for the 737NGX will be posted between now and the 2012 release?

I don't think this is true at all.
