NGX Release date: August 4

ROFL - how on earth does that qualify anyone as a "doomsday merchant" ?? This has got to be the most hyped release in the history of FSX, the fact that a lot of people have watched the video is just that.... G
Exactly. And I really hope we don't have to go through it again. PMDG have cleverly wrung every last drop from this. I bet the sales will reflect that too. It does look absolutely brilliant, but not everyone is going to want to fly it all the time. So it'll be nice when the dust has finally settled and other deserving products get a bit of time in the sun.Ian

I remember getting the original NG back in FS2002....it was a groundbreaking product then. I have no doubts that this version will do the same thing with FSX.Not been into the airliners much over the last few years as GA flying has been my thing but this will force my hand. With my latest rig I didn't even bother reinstalling the LDS 767 so I plan on this being my one and only heavy metal addon.

I think you highly underestimate the iFly team and their capabilities.
I think a lot over estimate the iFly team and their capabilities.

And I think, Jim, that some of you really need to show more happiness about their favourite 737 coming up soon. :(

A little insider information doesn't hurt ;).
Most likely the price point will be higher and with fewer models compared to the iFly, so there should be a market for both.
I hope so. Having choices is great. Based on available screenshots and videos PMDG will have (IMHO) great advantage in overall esthetics (superb texturing) and HUD. Personaly for me both items are easily worth double the price. If the simulation itself is better in any aspect only time will tell..

Finally, no more its ready when its ready comments from PMDG. Thats absolutely the worst response to a consumers question. A better response would have been... we are feverishly working on this development, however, we also need to ensure that its right. Consequently, we do not have a target release date set at this point. This response should have been used each time a knucklehead asked the ... "when will it be released" question.

Note to boss.... I would like to request 1 week vacation time to start Aug 4....Cant wait to get my hands on it.Jim

Both responses were used. Both say exactly the same thing. But there is a group of super sensitive users who are looking always for another reason to get offended. And they are the same who keep asking repetitive useless questions while answers are obvious to everyone else.

You are right, thanks for correction. But what it doesn't have is the proper optical collimation in the HUD and it is quite important specially if you use VC and/or use 3D.

... and it's ONLY on BBJs... for the moment. rolleyes.gif

interesting, i wonder if my curiosity will push me to get this, just to find out how good it is. I have the iFly so dont necessarily need another.
you should asked that person who is keeping up with your curiosity :(
