Yeah... We aren't quite finished yet...

Paul, you should let people-customers ask, comment or event criticise, without jumping to the forum like a pretorian guard of PMDG.Everyone has their own problems, some with CTD, other freezes, technical problems, activation... If we can´t help, the solution is not blaming the person who ask, and the typical advice of letting the developers work, and the worst one; it will be ready when it´s ready...how i hate it...The developers are in business, and know what to do ; in fact is the best company of FS world ,and obviously create the best ac for our hobby. So they don´t need this kind of defense. But they are not perfect, and problems exists, that´s what the forum is for.But , we should be more respectful with the other members of the forum.Best.Miquel Egea.

If you make three perfect landings the list magically appears in your HUD. I haven't seen the list either.

If PMDG actually don't know themselves then things really are a mess. I work flight simulation and I know all about the problems of fixing software bugs. I also have a lot of experience in project management and working without a projected end date is a recipe for disaster. It simply encourages the project to drift later and later. Calling that concept common sense is ridiculous. If you simply say it'll be finished when it's finished, it will never be finished. This is of course entirely different from PMDG not publishing the end date, which in the circumstances is probably the best idea as if they miss the date people won't get upset.Kevin Hall

Nonsense, utter nonsense.Of course they don't know themselves, they aren't capable of precognition. they can only "estimate", and estimates are frequently wrong... then you would slate them for their tardiness. If they fix a bug tomorrow, they have no idea if it will open a can of worms and be a catalyst for new problems. If they tell you it will "definitely" be next Friday, and in the mean time the bugs they are incorporating fixes for break other aspects of the sim, they won't make the deadline they promised will they?In addition, these guys do this stuff part time. They have day jobs to do and family matters to attend to. Do you not see how someone getting run over by a bus, and illness in ones family can affect deadlines.Do you not see how such unpredictability negates "definite" deadlines? Do you not see how previous promises for release dates have not been met due to unforeseen issues arising.Honestly, you guys are out of touch with reality. And you subject PMDG to impossible standards. What do you think service pack one is going to do for you, imbue you with super powers, and enable you to rule the universe? It's a service pack, stop moaning, and leave PMDG to do their jobs unhindered.
It's not a nonsense, but a goodsense in front of custumer hwo paid for the PMDG product! If I go in a restaurant and pay my dinner I also want to eat it, not waiting 6 month to have it!!! Perhaps you are accustomed to pay things you buy and wait 6 month to have something that work, I don't Thinking.gif ! They are a software house, not a shoe ripairman, so I pretend a serious product with a serious released date, because I paid for it! PMDG is not my brother or sister, they use my money, and I wan't to use the software I payed Waiting.gif !

You can look at it this way as well. The huge interest in it shows how very keen people are about this version of the 737 and this is really good for us all.Even the relative few who are perhaps a bit over forthright and let their feelings affect their comments both for and against still can have valid points. Emails and forums are not the easiest things to express oneself clearly and concisely.. cheers , Brian H

Agreed!

I work in a computer shop and most of time the 90 % of software problems are related to users error during install, now PMDG 737 without the first hot fix had some freeze problems but after the hotfix 2 the bug related to freeze desappear for most of us. I'd like to know if people with freeze bug had tried to format the PC with a fresh FSX install with Admin rights into a non protected folder (for Win7 Win Vista users) with UAC torned off. Also a freeze problem could be caused by running process under windows during FSX or faulty RAM & HDD. I know other addons probably will works but this because they don't use your system ad 737 does.I've tried 737 NGX with my PC and others 3 or 4 of my costumers and no iussue with correct FSX setup and tested machine. I know that we are waiting for SP1 but i think that people with freeze will not solve the problem.

+1BTW: Paul, thanks for making it clear that you are not the Official Spokes Person for PMDG as is not what one would conclude from reading this forum.

Geoff, I do not see any PMDG Development Group in my Tagline so how anyone could mistake me for PMDG is beyond me. Considering that you have in the past had yourself been reprimanded by Robert on several occasions maybe you should post that you also hold no position with PMDG.

Come on guys........
Yeah I agree... Taking a break and Flying the NGX from BIKF to ENGM. Maybe the Cold Weather will calm me. Angel.gif

You are lucky Michael. It was a nightmare , in my case. Well, you can go to the ASUS forums and see that the issue exists in lot of cases, and a BIOS update couldn´t solve the problem.Mine was bought at the beginning of the year more or less; maybe ASUS could solve the issue later...don´t know...Edit: Oh sorry; I see you have a Sabertooth X58; mine was P67. Same type of MB, but absolutely different hardware.Well, if you are interested:http://vip.asus.com/...SLanguage=en-usRegards.Miquel Egea
Yeah, just goes to show that the individual product itself is of greater significance than the brandname or product line. Any company can accidentally put out a dud now and then...

nVidia just released new drivers. Has anyone tried them to determine if there is any impact good or bad on 737NGX? I agree with Marco, as when I first installed 737NGX on my FSX it was an older build I had been using for some time and I had the Flight Simulator X folder inside my Program Files (x86) folder which I even though set up as administrator don't have complete control over. When I rebuilt my FSX computer from scratch, new HDD, Windows 7 Pro 64bit and updated it, then installed every part of FSX one at a time, starting inbetween each Add on making sure it loaded right and moving to the next. Its a slow process, can not be rushed. I am seeing on average 17 to 25fps on the PMDG 737NGX now. My video cards are older GTS-250s with 1gig and I am looking to upgrade but in the mean time, I was wondering about the new drivers.

This kind of attitude IS absolutely nonsense. This is software and cannot be compared in any way to eating food at a restaurant. PMDG has already provided much more than our money's worth with the initial release. Everything else is just "gravy" and "icing on the cake".

I have a question, kinda off topic, but then again, hell, this whole forum is off topic...lol.Is it private, or can we get a count or estimate of how many people are PMDG customers....specifically for the new NGX? From the likes of youtube.com, I would say 2,000 easy...lol....then again, I have no real idea...
