November 11, 201114 yr Author Steve,Do you have TIr vector expansion?hmmm i dont think i have that...I just got TIR 5.0 from amazon for $150. Has the clip that attaches to baseball cap. Another question i have- That seth profile...it doesnt seem to modify the "Speed" and "Smooth" settings in the "basic setting" area. I have those at the default 1 and 10 respectively. Is that ok? steve d Win7 Ultimate x64 i7-2600k @4.8GHz Asus Sabertooth P67 Mushkin Redline 8GB EVGA GTX 570 SC Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD CoolerMaster SilentPro 1000W PS PMDG737NGX, PMDG747-400, REX2.0, GEX, UTX, MyTrafficX, EzDok
November 11, 201114 yr I had the TIR4 a year or more and never bothered with it much. then I heard in here about EZdok and bought it, decided to give the TIR4 a proper go with the TIR5 software and EZDok combined. I also use the Seph Profile and now I have my cap on that much I nearly went to the shop with it on til I remembered to switch caps. I don`t think I`d feel happy flying without TIR4 and EZDok now, even in a real plane. Steve
November 11, 201114 yr I have had TrackIR for about six years but never became a fan and use it only very occasionally now because I get nausea too. Unlike most other simmers, for me the the trackIR experience is not very realistic at all. Nowadays I find a combination of the hat switch and Ezdok is much more satisfactory and all I need to navigate around the VC.Bruce Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened." Gandalf: "So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us."
November 11, 201114 yr Thats why I tried it and sold it 2 weeks later. Now if they come out with a retina scanner I may reconsider. Realisticly your head doesn't move around that extreme. few beers and TrackIr=Vomit tank :)Agree. Pretty over-rated, and really is not that life like. David Porrett
November 11, 201114 yr Its about 2 years since I got TIR, and Im yet to use it for more than one flight phase at a time. Every few months or so after reading raving reviews, I give it a try with fresh hope...only to disconnect a couple of hours later. I have used Seth's profile, tweaked Seth's profile, tried setting up my own profile but nothing seems to work. I think its a good idea, but as others have said above, its not for everyone. Fidgety people, stay away from it. Or first try free/cheaper alternatives so you can judge if its for you.Sam
November 11, 201114 yr I totally 100% agree with you. You are missing out on alot without Track-IR. If i dd not have it (track-ir) id probably quit flightsim altogether.Sort out a good profile and you will be fine.Cheers,Nicholas Boskovic
November 11, 201114 yr "It's all a matter of having a tiny bit of patience to set it up properly and getting used to it. Trust me, all of us who use TrackIR on every single flight and who even program the FMC in the virtual cockpit without disabling it or using the 2D panel are having a blast and no problems whatsoever. In fact I could never ever fly without it again. You missed out big time, let me tell you"100% agree ! could'nt fly without TrackIR5 + TrackClipProSeth's profile is a pretty good one. Assigning one of your joystick buttons to the TrackIR5 "center" function, the most commonly used, is very useful. I mainly fly with the "Precision mode smoothing activated" and set to 300.00 (camera tab settings).I do not use EZdok, TrackIR5 is just enough, at least for me
November 11, 201114 yr When my track clip pro was broken I simply couldn't get myself to flying! Everything felt so dull and stiff. Obviously TrackIR is not for everybody, but I find myself turning my head in many other games (that don't support TrackIR) and sometimes even in Windows since it has become so natural. I am using the default profile. Before when I was using the hat clip it felt so and so but with the track Clip pro it was a totally new experience. Krister LindénEFMA, Finland------------------
November 11, 201114 yr Set Flight is good, but AOA MD11 TrackiR profile is also good. I use them both sometimesswitch between them. The most important thing with TrackIr, is that you´ll have to have the PAUSE functionvery handy. I have it on the middle mouse by pressing it down. Scrolling with it to zoom out or in.When pressing and dialing a button and knobs, just PAUSE it.I also use it together with the EzDok and they are working flawless together.NOTE! You´ll have to read the EzDok manual what you have to do if also running TrackIR though./ Leffe/ Leffe Leif A Mikkelsen **********************

November 11, 201114 yr How do you set the pause on the middle mouse button Leffe? Louis Massicotte Caroline Alberta
November 11, 201114 yr I use the Logitech G700 gaming mouse and use the Logitech Setpoint profile software to put the pause and centering on my middle button (push left for centering & push right for pause). All the other buttons i use for my most frequently used EzDok views. Rick Hobbs
November 11, 201114 yr Oh Ok thanks looks like i don't have the right mouse Louis Massicotte Caroline Alberta
