December 15, 201114 yr You can use the iFly and PMDG sounds for her. Backup the old folder, copy the new one and take a look on the sound.cfg to decide about which non engine sounds should be included. Note. The gauge sounds of the Wilco will stay the same, you just replace the rather thin engine ones. You can still buy an extra Classics set of course, but I think these CFM based sounds will help in the meantime.
December 15, 201114 yr Author Yeah, fortunately the gauge sound are located elsewhere entirely, so swapping engine sounds is no problem. I will keep looking for a better Classic CFM (3 series) package. For now I have a FS2004 pack that I downloaded from Avsim, see what that's all about. I would prefer a native FSX pack though, since I love the soundcone technology. December 15, 201114 yr Here it is: http://secure.simmar...t_5829%29.phtmlFSX native with sound cones and very well done package. I use it with my v1 package. December 15, 201114 yr Thanks for the HU. Why isn't it on the TSS site? However, lets check that video with the volume up. Ah, sound cones. However, I'll wait for the sales, as Benjamin does. The set from the Flight1 AE -800 has sound cones too, maybe I'll keep it. Would have been nice if Wilco had included a decent set of course. It makes a huge difference in my eyes ears and would help justifying the price.
December 15, 201114 yr I love the flap extension sound in this package ... so real! But the sales are inbound ... it´s worth wait fot it! December 16, 201114 yr Hey all. Been an interesting thread to follow so far, and lots of fire left in the belly yet I'd say I'm a Classic fan from way back, live in New Zealand where the real-life domestic mainline fleet of jets is still mostly 733's, so bought the original Wilco when it came out and have flown that probably 3x as much as any other aircraft in my virtual stable. I'd been happy with the balance of modelling detail and systems in the old Wilco and still believe its a nice comprimise between complexity and flyability.I recently built a new FSX rig on Win7/64 and sadly the old Wilco just wouldnt run on it (a common problem) so was really excited to hear there was an update on the way and the early screenies looked very promising. Despite the Evo not panning out to be as well executed as we'd all hoped (and most of the critical comments shared in this thread thus far are pretty fair) I have to say that after one night of flying I'm happy. I bought the Evo upgrade last night and am happy to report that apart from the obvious cosmetic weaknesses (compared to say the iFly or PMDG 73's) the new Evo is really more of the same from Wilco, a nicely ballance package, and fun to fly.If you too are a classics fan and have some $$$ burning a hole in your pocket for xmas, I dont think you should hesitate, just buy it!!! If you liked the old Wilco you'll like this one. (especially if you arent actually able to run the old one any longer)If you're a hard-core NG fan however and love to look at eye-candy and run through a complete startup checklist and run tests and experience failures etc then to be honest you'd be better off saving your pennies and buying the iFly or PMDG. For guys like you the Wilco really is overpriced when you compare it to whats on offer elsewhere. And for crying out loud, pleassssse allow the rest of us to actually enjoy using and talking about the Wilco Evo without hearing you whingeing about what you think of it here Dean Stringer
December 16, 201114 yr 2012 in 17 days and still very UGLY and very basic sorry...Still see some disappointed customers...Still going to say how I feel about it...So for me (very personal taste of course), this is an example of what a VC should like in FSX 16 days before 2012 : clarity, nice textures, 3D analog gauges, and still smooth...The thing is, PMDG are NOT the only ones doing good work with 3D modeling and textures... Just look around : A2A, Aerosoft, Sibwings, Carenado, RealAir, Flight 1,...The artwork in the 737 EVO is just flat out very POOR...Im just not talking about 3d modeling and textures. For the whole package the PMDG NGX is hard to beat. Matt Wilson
December 16, 201114 yr Im just not talking about 3d modeling and textures. For the whole package the PMDG NGX is hard to beat.Ah ok gotcha...The fact the NGX above everything else (especially Wilco) is so obvious I feel I don't need to say it though... That's why I'm not including it here. Two different birds (Classic/NG). Two different leagues of product...But I gotcha. Best regards, Fritz ESSONO
December 16, 201114 yr I guess I got used to the NGX and said the graphics sucked on the EVO.. That being said, now having tss sounds and the more I fly it, the more I like it.. She flies like the real aircraft, some glitches in Navigation, but I kept an open mind and just came to the conclusion this is a different company.. What I love about it most is the way the aircraft handles. It takes a little more muscle when the aircraft is low and slow and the ailerons and rudder aren't as responsive when on approach, just like the real deal.. I would love like anyone else to have the VC not so cartoonish, and better looking switches, but all in all she flies great... Cheers.. Once Capt. sim releases the flight deck for the 737-100, all will be right in the world.. Tony Fontaine

Once Capt. sim releases the flight deck for the 737-100, all will be right in the world..Yeah it does feel kinda solid doesnt it, in a good way, certainly not quite as light as the old model. Just noticed that now when completing a flight and flicking off the A/P on finals. Also had my first wonky LNAV experience, it really got pretty badly off track when following a fairly simple STAR, I had to break out of LNAV/VNAV and use HDG select etc. Be interesting to see just how much of a problem this becomes. Also noticed tonight that some of the VC elements weren't changing position when I clicked them, the gear-level, auto-brake switch and ignition switches. They just wouldnt budge in the VC, could switch to 2D and change them but then they're new position wouldnt be updated in the VC. This is definately a bug, didnt happen in my flights last night. December 16, 201114 yr your model, VC and lighting comments have nothing to do with feelThere. feelThere only updated the gauges. your concerns are with Wilco -http://www.wilcopub....icalassistance/(scroll to the bottom of the page for the support form)Wilco also controls the SP 'strings' and all updates. all concerns must be voiced to them (see link above), again as has been stated for 1/2 a year, as only the panel gauges were supplied by feelThere.--the Wilco/FT relationship remains as dysfunctional as ever.Caveat emptor folks....
