He always is. :wink:BTW It's weird to see more and more people coming over here... Very weird. I mean, not surprising, but it's... weird.

Hi,Wow, the meltdown that is taking place at ORBX is incredibly sad. It certainly looks like I purchased my last ORBX product, I refuse to support a company that has so little regard for its customers. I don't care how great the software addon is, with an attitude like what's being shown to their customers, they don't deserve my hard earned cash. I'll have to do without their products...

I must say, without malice, IMHO, I think FTX uses this forum and FSX as an experimental platform to springboard to other areas, such as Prepar3d, and some of us pay the price for it!
I have thought the same for some time. The mods over there seem to be under strict instruction to provide positive spin in that direction while talking down or failing to acknowledge any other possibilities.

Indeed it is very sad, just over a year ago I enjoyed their forums a lot, we were all exchanging ideas, tweaks and more....if I remember correctly it all started with the removal of their hardware forum....as I believe everybody should be succesfull in business, sometimes you get what you ask for....

it was the removal of the hardware forum that got me. Could not understand it, to be honest. I believe if you operate a forum with multi sub forums, you run it as a multi sub forum should be run, and I think that somebody mentioned the pilot lounge in this thread, even that has tight restictions that would match the Pentagon.FSDT only has a forum for support, maybe Orbx should do the same, after all, the current forum set up is a farce.

Hi Guys,I am ambivilent either way to whether this or the Official site is where to discuss ORBX products. All I look for in my software addons is that the stuff works and more importantly that the addon doesn't stuff my computer :wink:I accept that some people like to have a relationship with their suppliers, but the reality is we only purchase addons based on whether we perceive they offer good quality, value for money or are in an area where we want improved scenery. To me it's just a pure business relationship in the case of ORBX, unlike say FS2Crew which I have a limited involvement with.I am not sure that the official ORBX forums ever need to offer anything more than a prompt response to customer technical issues. Maybe the way they have tightened up/streamlined the way they operate is not to some peoples liking but I give them a lot of credit for the way they handle queries which is all I really want as a customer.I know flight simming is an important hobby for many (myself included) but neither do I think that issues such as what this thread perhaps highlight is really that important in the scheme of things. As far as I am aware no-one has ever been 'ripped off' as such by ORBX simulations, unlike some developers who I won't mention who have promised the earth, taken my money and delivered nothing.Regards Dave

Hi Dave,Yes, that was my point in my post, that they should just have a support forum, and a support forum only. The current set up is only for self praise ie managment ( I don't wish to tar the scenery developers./ creators with same preverbial brush). To sum up, you can only tell them how great they are and that's about it. They have more padlocks than on any other forum I have frequented. It would not surprise me if they have some kind of remote device, lets call it a Zapper shall we, and soon as you cross the line, your a gone burger,Anyway, you embrace your customers (group hug), you don't disconnect yourself from them. how big do they think the FSX market is ? The same as Facebook ? good grief!!To create ill feeling amongst loyal customers after announcing they want to break out into the UK market, almost borders on marketing suicide.I am only repeating what has been said, so shall leave it at that.Cheers

Wow, what an interesting thread!I am an active user at the Orbx forums, and to be honest, i'm very sorry for all the things you guys suffered. In my case, i've got nothing to worry about (like getting banned) since i've got really nothing against anything from Orbx. I buy their products, I enjoy them and that is what really matters most. On the forums, I post stuff now and then, some shots, comment on a few things, get support whenever I need to, and that's about it.I will remain an active FTX customer, simply because I like their products and the support is effective, nothing else.cheers,Misha

Hi Misha,I don't think you will find anyone on here who dislikes the Orbx product, including myself. And support is what they should stick to. This sub forum was born out fellow pilots who use to provide there own support to there felow pilots, on the orbx forums, that is all. Band Of Brothers as Stephen put it.Would not like the idea that you think we have some grudge against the support people/ developers, it is at a higher level than that.Cheers
