March 28, 201214 yr It's not hidden or a new addition. It's clearly spelled out. Anyone who failed to notice the information about "external only, no cockpit" was not paying attention. Buyer beware. Read before you buy.
March 28, 201214 yr HelloOf course they did, the mustang was always in there as DLC vs the Maule in order to gauge what would sell the best as DLC,Aircraft flown externally in the way that most "gamers" approach flying and racing or the traditional cockpit flying that simulation fans are used to.The Mustang obviously has been very popular with the masses, and so that sets the direction that the team takes with DLC.This is not a secret, Joshua has mentioned it many times in the past. The market determines the direction Flight! takes and the market has spoken. nothing wrong with that. You have missed my point, but all will be revealed in due course.Bryan.
March 28, 201214 yr If they released a plane with a working vc (Moving eyepoint back in to the cockpit sounds like it gives you a non working vc), It would of taken longer, took dev time away from the Alaska dlc and the people who don't want to spend the cash to get a deluxe plane would of been left out and would be moaning they didn't get a plane, no win. "Hardcore" simmers have got the Alaska dlc coming which will most likely have a plane with a fully working vc, if not then is the time to start getting worried. So wanting a cockpit = hardcore simmer? It seems like the goal posts keep moving...What is the next normal flightsim feature to be reconsidered as an unreasonable "hardcore simmer" feature so as not to criticize MS Marketing decisions? --John near KPAE
March 28, 201214 yr As much as I have found Flight a magical experience, this actually makes me question the wisdom of having purchased any DLC at all when it is rapidly becoming apparent that the platform was intended from the start to fail.I have to agree. I am trying to support this title, but seeing as they released this aircraft with no cockpit, I have to wonder how many more will be released unfinished or if this is a new strategy for them. If so I might have to move on to something else as this is totally unacceptable/useless and makes no sense to me.. Seeing all the posts here and on the blog it is very apparent that the majority don't want or understand the business model of an unfinished aircraft, so if another one is released, that will be the defining point to me that MS doesn't care what we, the community/customers have to say.. Best, Michael KDFW
March 28, 201214 yr It looks like they are buying time. They said one aircraft every month. That's it. :Liar: MSI Z87-G43 | i54670K@3400 | 16 Gb DDR3 @ 1866Mhz | Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 G1 6GB | SAMSUNG SyncMaster 2433BW 24" @ 1920 x 1200 | Windows 10 64 bit Pro | Saitek X-55 Rhino | TrackIR 5 Pro
March 28, 201214 yr I'm sure the Zero makes some people happy, but it doesn't interest me. I believe Alaska will include a bush flyers delight, whether it be an Otter, Beaver, a Super Cub with tundra tires or perhaps something else. Hope it won't be too much longer before Alaska is ready!Alaska has been cancelled, due to the fact sales of the mustang outstipped any other Dlc.Lol, only joking but Flight really could go that way because this release makes zero sense.Bryan
March 28, 201214 yr So wanting a cockpit = hardcore simmer? It seems like the goal posts keep moving... :db:"hardcore" simmerWhy would a simmer fly an external only view plane, it kinda defeats the purpose. This is for the the people who don't want a cockpit and for funding (quicker and easier to put out). I would rather they did it this way than forced external only planes on me through area dlc, and if they don't include a working vc with the plane include with the Alaska dlc I probably wont buy it.
March 28, 201214 yr Now this was a huge miss-step. Instead of appeasing whiners... err, I mean simmers (no pun intended, of course), they release a non-cockpit. What were they thinking? Are they trying really hard to push through a message to simmers? Hawaii!
March 28, 201214 yr The decisions MS are making with this title are absolutely mind-boggling. I don't think I've EVER seen a game company go in the complete opposite direction from the wants of their existant fan base let alone ignore and dismiss them entirely. Blake
March 28, 201214 yr Me. So there is one. There may be more out there.Heck I even spend most of my time in FSX out-of-cockpit. Seriously - why even bother with an external model if you don't look at it?Of course, the True Hard-Core Maxtreme Simmers only ever fly between Schipol & Frankfurt in cargo B737s, at night, in cloud, so I guess all you ever need is the cockpit and an autopilot on/off switch. :Big Grin:Well I didn't say nobody flew external but I think you are a rasonably rare breed, certainly rare enough for sales not to be the reason for the zero release.Bryan.
March 28, 201214 yr Wow.. Hardcore simmer came up in this discussion? :LMAO: It's a airplane for goodness sakes. It comes with a cockpit.. You don't discuss strategies, you don't debate about marketing.. You just put a stupid cockpit in it. It goes hand in hand.. I don't know what bothers me more, them releasing it without one or knowing there was probably a team meeting where at least 3-4hrs were spent discussing if a airplane, in a game/simulator aimed at flying them should have a cockpit or not and somehow going against all common sense and logic determined it shouldn't have one.. :Waiting: .... .... .... March 28, 201214 yr When I first saw the announcement I thought this might be interesting to add to the hanger. Then it made think about how nice the panel would look....wait a minute..."This is an external only aircraft model' Nooooooo!
March 28, 201214 yr So now cockpit mode = appeasing whiners ... bravo...Don't take it too seriously, please :) I understand what simmers want, they just sometimes make unnecessary fuss about it ;) I myself didn't buy Mustang and won't buy Zero. No cockpit, no interest. What I meant to say was that they moved consciously against the current, which makes no sense. The new people woulnd't mind if next plane was HC sim, there still were enough toys, but simmers on the other hand do care and are in very sensitive mood now, so it seems to me to be a very unwise decision, in political sense.BTW people sometimes wonder what is the purpose of Mustang / Zero when they do not allow you to carry out jobs - the answer is easy, they seem to be made to tackle with coin / hoop challenges, which kind of makes sense. Hawaii!
