Good point, but maybe ORBX know something we don't.Perhaps they have considered that they will be unable to give any product support to these side by side licenses if LM were to pull the rug from under our feet at some time in the future.Not saying this is going to happen of course but why the sudden urgency and desire to get people moving to prepar3d, especially when not long ago they had a banner plastered on their site saying FSX had a great future and they were going to release many great products for it.Bryan.

I just have a funny feeling that maybe Orbx and LM invested so much in P3D and were surprised by the general lack of interest. It just feels like panic selling now. Either that or someone's getting divorced and needs to raise some cash. But after all the hype about those banners I'm really surprised that the big announcement is just another sale when it was made to look like some hugely significant development had been made and Orbx were going to shock the world. And to be honest I feel I have quite enough scenery now and the sale doesn't interest me at all especially when the sceneries are getting smaller but yet more demanding with every release. What a let down.

You have to remember that John actually posted in the last weeks of December 2011 that there was only going to be one more sale in 2012. The last sale Orbx had before this April sale actually ended on December 31st 2011. John mentioned that there would be one more sale in 2012 then no more after that. So this sale in April is the sale in 2012 he is referring to.Craig

More broadly, I think the relatively low pricing of MS Flight DLC is going to have a downward impact on FSX add-ons including ORBX. I have most of ORBX sceneries and decided my next purchase would be Alsaka (Flight) even though I haven't tried Flight yet. The sale price brings down ORBX add ons to a comparative price with Flight - which will induce some people (It is inducing me).Also I believe majority of new simmers will gravitate towards Flight by default. When you are interested in a new game - you go for the latest release. Flight will be good enough for most of them and they will not seek other platforms. This may not be the best thing for FSX/P3D developers - their market will be limited to the old base unless they end up developing for flight (which I think will eventually happen).--Am I the only one who thinks LM is being unethical?They are not supposed to offer a retail product but wink wink - they had a monthly developer version and now an academic version which they promote heavily to non developers and non-students.
