Hiya. Question for you edumacated aviation folks. I tried finding this out on my own accord but Google has failed me.

I haven't experienced this with the Malibu, or Duke and am with the C90 and curious what it is, and what is different w/ this aircrafts engines that causes it. During take off as the engines approach redline there is a sudden `boost' and you're acceleration seems to almost double in a single pop. You're even thrown back in the seat a bit. What is that? Like I said I've never noticed this in either the Duke or Malibu. Just trying to educate myself here a bit..

Hey Guy's

Just looking through some topics on C90 here and after all the positve praise i was reading about yesterday with it being Carenado's finest to date and now it seems to have gone the other way. I wondered if i was still reading about the same aircraft.

I was looking forward to this one but i'm not so sure now. Might leave it and see if any patches arise down the line. Thanks to those doing the testing  .

Kind Regards

Simon.

Mine didn't either on an approach last night. I double checked I was in NAV mode (as indicated by the GNS400 and the EHSI Mode Indicator), but only had the LOC bar and no GS. I'm still wondering if I had something set incorrectly, but I don't think so.

"Haskell" did yours show on the EHSI or just on the PFD? Thanks.

My only regret is there is no FS9 option for this aircraft...I use both FS9 & FSX...but do most of my flying in FS9...FSX is such a resource hog...sounds like there is a frame rate hit with this model as well. Must say it does look phenomenal!!

They show up on the EADI.

Bert

That's true Bert, but the GS needle should be present on the EHSI as well with this instrument. It's part of the function of that unit.

I do not know why you need that information twice - but if you really want it, you can

likely copy the code from the A36 or maybe the Malibu.

Personally, I quite like what they have done here - same as the JL2 gauges from RXP, if I remember correctly.

Bert

Redundancy and realism I guess Bert. If a gauge is being modeled, it should be accurate within the confines of FS. It's been done many times before so I don't see why it couldn't be done here. The advantage is you are looking at heading and LOC/GS info all on one gauge which makes it easier to make small heading or attitude changes as you come down the ILS. I agree, it is redundant, but it is supposed to be there.

I don't recall seeing the GS on the EHSI. I was watching the PFD and it was on there. I honestly don't think it was on the EHSI. Or if it's supposed to be?

Sorry I meant the PFD or EADI. How come sometimes it shows the green dots and sometimes it shows the artificial runway on the PFD are these different settings?

Also this may be the wrong place for this but I heard that there is a 350i in the works somewhere?

This is covered in the EFIS manual.

It's in the manual - the runway symbol is when it is powered by a localizer. The dot is for VOR or GPS.

Yeah, strictly speaking it should be. As Bert said, you can just use the EADI, and that's legitimate, but our company has installed this EHSI on a couple of King Airs and it does come with a GS indicator (as do all HSI's really). I still consider this a bug and have filed a support ticket for it, along with the missing engine sounds, et al. But is it absolutely necessary to fly an ILS approach with? No, you can use the EADI.
