Basler BT-67 Turbo Conversion DC-3 released

Makes sense, Alexander. It's just the first plane where I saw this happening and, right again, it's vital to point out that one has to treat her the wrong way to cause the 'problem'. Your Piper Cheyenne doesn't do this though.

But not to be read the wrong way. I'm very happy about the plane and the detail on the FDE, thanks to you. That it was released as freeware still blows my mind.

I have suddenly lost a lot of the cockpit sounds. Worked yesterday after installing V2, gone today. I still have the general sounds like engine, fuel pumps, but have lost sounds for the cockpit windows opening, wipers, clicks for the heading and course bugs, etc. Tried reinstalling but no help. Any ideas?

Thanks

Can you check if you have the sound files in the FSX\Sound\Basler_Sound folder? Some 13 items. I don't know exactly if something was altered from V1 to V2. If in doubt, look into the Basler zip file and extract them again.

There also is a Basler.DLL asking for permission to run when being started the first time. Perhaps you've accidentally denied it. You can check this when looking into the Trusted section of the fsx.cfg.

A big thanks to everyone involved in making this aircraft and the community who are working on improving it.

It's fantastic to see such a high quality freeware release, and to see members of the community digging in and helping to improve it without the mudslinging and sniping that accompanines so many other commercial releases.

Maybe there is hope for this hobby after all!

Nick

Yes, checked for all of the sound files and re-extracted them to be sure. Also deleted the permission for Basler.dll in the FSX.cfg and then re-allowed it, still no luck. A stubborn problem.

Like any really good, simulated aircraft, I am learning more about her the more I fly it. Yesterday, I flew my brand-spanking new Basler BT-67 from the factory at Oshkosh KOSH back to Pueblo KPUB. The long flight gave me a good chance to observe how the fuel system works. I am starting to understand which positions the various switches need to be in so I can move fuel from one tank to another.

The new HD gauges are really nice. Before installing them, I just pretended the gauges were fuzzy because of aircraft vibration from an old DC-3 airframe!

Those sounds should be in your FSX\ Sound\ Basler file. If I'm correct, the click sounds are a function of the gauge programming.

Phase 2 of the HD gauges is starting to take shape. The auto pilot annunciator, ASI, VSI, and altimeter pretty much done expect for night textures. I have some rough shapes made for the attitude indicator; what is in this screen shot is a work in process. My next release will be these 4 gauges and the annunciator. Hopefully I will have the time this week to finish them.
