July 23, 201213 yr Today at the FSDG German support forum Thorsten replied something like that (forgive my German-English translation): 'Due to many requests, we are also creating an extension of the aerial photo-scenery necessary for adjusted autogen for FS9. An update will be published during the week.' Rafal, your translation is perfect (at best I would translate: "...we are also creating an extension of the aerial photo-scenery with adjusted autogen for FS9") Dzękuje! July 23, 201213 yr Yep, I have MAJOR ISSUES! Lets face it, all of us here have major issues! But we enjoy this addiction, it doesn't harm ourselves or anyone else, it is not desperately expensive to feed and it is fascinating - not just the actual flying and the mastery of different aircraft, navigation and systems, but I often find I get almost as much satisfaction from investigating and resolving issues with my FS9 setup. I also find it is extremely relaxing and a great escape from reality after a stressful day's work. At weekends, I often set up long haul flights and leave them on the autopilot for long periods while I go and do some chores around the house, but, although they have come to accept my enjoyment of my hobby and the fact that it relaxes me, my family still look at me rather strangely when I tell them that the noise coming from my unoccupied study is a long haul flight on autopilot! That is when I need to turn to you guys for understanding - and reassurance that I am not alone in my insanity! Bill

July 24, 201213 yr Don't worry Bill. You are not alone!!! But I guess that's what they say to all the folks who first check into the asylum!!!! Then again, maybe we are the sane ones and all the other folks who have never discovered the joy of flying with a pause button have never discovered are really the sad cases!!! (I wish the real world had a pause and a reset button!!!! Not to mention the ability to save and repeat certain moments and delete the others!!!) Enough philosophy! Back to my reinstall!!!
July 24, 201213 yr we are all addicted  :LMAO: No I think I am the worst out of this group. I even blog about this garbage! ^_^
July 25, 201213 yr I tried Djerba X, looks great but the frame rates are nasty when the terminal is in view. I tried the update and turned off ground shadows but to no avail. Odd that considering it has no ground traffic and it's such a small airport it's so bad on frames. I might reinstall. I had terrible frames with the ifly 737 FP update but that seems to have sorted itself out, as FS9 sometimes does....
July 25, 201213 yr Author I tried Djerba X, looks great but the frame rates are nasty when the terminal is in view Ben, see this thread (especially Gatry's - 'atco' - posts), you may be interested: http://forum.flightsimdevelopmentgroup.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=152
July 25, 201213 yr I would rather turn the power off at the mains, than turn off ground shadows! Thanks for that link, Garry's pointer to the alpha searcher tool will certainly make life a lot easier than running all those textures through DXTBMP. Peter van der Veen is a giant, and has produced the most amazing tools.
July 28, 201213 yr Sharm el Sheikh has been revised and just been released by Aerosoft as an upgrade for FS9 users, We talked and they listened - and followed through in making the changes we requested. It is definitely worth buying. Reasonable price and excellent quality Cheers Ian
July 29, 201213 yr Commercial Member Still patiently waiting for a decent KCOS and KMSN. (And I'd gladly pay money). And still hoping for a quality KMSP. I use the BluePrint one now, and I applaud that they are targeting a simpler scenery while maintaining a cheap price (not to mention being the only company to take on KMSP), I'd love FlyTampa or another group to do one.
