July 17, 201213 yr Gentlemen, Any opinion on the AivlaSoft Electronic Flight Bag software for FSX? Thanks. Stanner
July 22, 201213 yr Commercial Member Hi Stanner This has to be one of the best addons I have. I use it on every IFR flight and also on most VFR flights, if I don't use 'PlanG'. I have saved on paper and ink from not printing out airport plans. I think it works best if you have 2 monitors, as you can easily see the moving map. The support from Urs is first class. The website says it all really, so I won't repeat it here  EFB now supports REXe weather, along with the other ones, of course. If you have any specific questions then please ask and I'm sure they will be answered from the users on here Regards Clive Clive Joy

July 24, 201213 yr I have Aivlasoft EFB and enjoy it a lot. The moving maps, particularly on approach and on ground at airports are great, and the flight planning works very well as well. However, there is one issue with the system that is not mentioned in the review above and that does bother me a little, and that is that it forces you to always run FSX real time. Doesn't sound like a big problem, but if you tend to fly during the evenings in the winter, or like to fly in Orb-X Australia/NZ for example and live in Europe, you will always end up flying in the night which is a shame. I actually ended up flying more in the US last winter, as it would be the only continent with sunlight during the hours that I would get to fly!

I used the demo for a month and don't remember any restrictions on having to fly real time. Is EFB changing the time in your sim? You can disable that... Jim Shield Cybersecurity Specialist

July 24, 201213 yr Wow, I'm sure I have googled this a few times and never found the solution and even references to the same problem by other people, so if it is this simple then I am very happy. I'll have to give it a go tonight! I must say, I probably haven't gone through the options in the data provider, as opposed to the normal options in the planner/map software. Thanks guys!
July 25, 201213 yr I'm really interest in EFB and emailed the developer a couple of months ago to ask him is there were any discounts at that time and he said that he was planning a sale for the month of August. We'll see.
July 26, 201213 yr EFB - Love it. It was the missing piece in the puzzle in helping me understand IFR, what my plane was doing and bettering myself on VATSIM. Expensive, but fully featured. You don't have to fly in real time, it's an option to. I still prefer PLAN G for VFR.
July 26, 201213 yr I know $99 may seem steep without experiencing the full value of the product first. After learning all the functionalities of the program and seeing all the real time features and even networking options ( dedicated navigation computer to save resources on FS computer) I'd gladly spend more than this price. One thing to consider to is the gentlemen who code and test the software worked 40 hour weeks for years non stop to develop this. Please do yourself the favor and try the demo. This program adds a whole new level of realism to the simulator. July 27, 201213 yr 69 Euros ... At the time of my review it was 99 but now its 84 US. http://eur.fx-exchange.com/usd/69-exchange-rates.html Sincerely, Chase My 2017 Build: Liquid Cooled i7 7700K CPU idle @ 4.2GHz | MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G | 16GB's DDR4 4000 RAM | ASUS 27" 144hz Gaming Monitor | MSI Z270 M7 Motherboard | Windows 10 | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 500GB SSD
December 26, 201213 yr I am hooked on this add on and run it on every flight on a separate monitor. Finding my way around an airport while taxiing is now trivial. Easily find and load a real-world flight plan. See traffic from VATSIM, Ultimate Traffic 2, and probably others with altitude and speed clearly listed. View SIDs and STARs on the map making it easy to pick one. Pick arrival runways and have the ILS feather and frequency clearly displayed. A separate progress window always shows distance to next navaid, distance to destination, fuel remaining and needed, etc. And on and on. The only "drawback" I have found. I probably don't learn charts as well as I should because it makes it so easy to fly without them, (which is the main point). December 26, 201213 yr I love EFB, but it is no substitute for "real" charts. And I hear rumours about EFB V2
