September 9, 201213 yr Folks, Any advice on who makes a decent JFK and LGA add-on? I have the Aerosoft Manhattan X scnery pack, but looking for additional airport/scenery for this area. Thanks! September 9, 201213 yr maybe before you buy, try the Ray Smith AFCADs for those airports and see if you like those
September 9, 201213 yr I wouldnt call the imaginesim scenery decent. Shez has a decent freeware scenery of LGA tho, its available from avsims library http://library.avsim.net/search.php?SearchTerm=klga_fsx.zip&CatID=fsx&Go=Search. Make sure that you download and install the other files listed before you get the FSX patch vatsim s3
September 9, 201213 yr Moderator maybe before you buy, try the Ray Smith AFCADs for those airports and see if you like those The Ray Smith AFCAD for JFK is harder on fps than using the awesome FSDT version of JFK, mainly due to the AFCAD using default object which arent optimized like FSDTs stuff. September 9, 201213 yr FSDreamTeam for KJFK, without a doubt. Ray Smith's AFCAD's are great and I use them for many airports elsewhere, but in this case I prefer the Shez KLGA scenery by a large margin. KEWR is where I come up empty. Those bastiges at ImagineSim need to update their KEWR for FSX! Avid flightsimmer with a solo pilot endorsement, halfway toward my Private Pilot in the Diamond DA20 C-1 Eclipse.
September 9, 201213 yr maybe before you buy, try the Ray Smith AFCADs for those airports and see if you like those I mean no disrespect to Ray who does great work, but c'mon now... you can't possibly compare a default afcad to one of the best scenery developers out there.
September 9, 201213 yr Imaginesim just seem to have done bare minimums to port their fs9 scenery over to FSX. It takes a big performance hit as well. They need to start doing FSX scenery in its native form as much as possible with the exception of custom runway/taxiway textures where fs9 textures are so much better than fsx ones. September 10, 201213 yr Hi, Check out: KLGA: http://www.imaginesim.com/klga01.htm KJFK: http://www.fsdreamte...oducts_jfk.html Walk....no run as far as you can from the ImagineSim KLGA. It is very broken as is most (but not all) of their stuff. Jim Atkins
September 10, 201213 yr Been using the Blueprint Simulations KJFK for a little while, and am pleased. Depending on the rig you run it can take a hit on the FPS count, but lots to see. Have all of their Eastern US scenery and for the money, think they're worth the buy. Fair warning, you are missing out on some of the dynamic stuff, but that's never been a bother to me.
