October 3, 201213 yr Commercial Member I love Miami... I was there last summer. If only I could speak Spanish, I'd consider moving there permanently. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
October 3, 201213 yr That looks like Miami Beach across the bay, sort of a NE direction?? I lived in Coral Springs and worked at 43rd and Biscayne Blvd. for 6 years(85-91). Used to go to lunch at Mike Gordon's at the west end of the 79th st causeway. Cruised out of MIA a couple years ago. Man, has that place changed! Thought I was in a foreign country!
October 3, 201213 yr Commercial Member Man, has that place changed! Thought I was in a foreign country! Yeah, Miami is like 80 percent Hispanic now or something... I had several experiences where workers in stores or in the highway Toll Booths would initiate conversations with me in Spanish... My grand parents would have gone ape about that, but I thought it was cool and and it added to the local charm. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
October 3, 201213 yr I think it's cool if you're in Madrid, or Havana!! (I'm probably as old as your Grand Parents) Here in Colorado you hear mostly Spanish speaking employees, and many customers as well, at Mac Donalds, and also at many Mexican restaurants. At the mall you hear Spanish plus Asian languages. I was behind a middle aged Oriental guy at the Ace Hardware store this week who was trying to purchase a drill bit and he didn't speak a word of English, and believe me he was no tourist! I'm glad you think it's cool, because, if you are really young, you're going to deal with it as a minority in less than 40 years! So start studying languages!

October 4, 201213 yr Moderator I love Miami... I was there last summer. If only I could speak Spanish, I'd consider moving there permanently. Yep I love the area from Ft. Lauderdale south to Miami as well. I vacation there a few times a year, usually in May and Sept. Have some friends that moved from Dallas to Aventura 9 years ago and they love it out there.as well. Between the food, scenery, beaches, night life, and weather (minus hurricanes), it's hard to beat. Having lived in SoCal, Arizona, and now Texas, it's by far my favorite place. The only thing that would make it 100% perfect is if it had some mountains that I could go skiing in. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
