We are barely a year and a half past the release of a product you probably never imagined was possible just a few years ago and already you're "let down" that we haven't already delivered even more to you? I'm tired of it - you know better and quite frankly we deserve better given our reputation and track record.

Well to be fair Ryan, this past year from March there has been an attitude of a release either around now or early next year. There was a topic from Robert named "Let the previews begin" - then we get left in the dark for months. Well, I guess we still are in a way? Saying you anticipated on releasing the DC-6 & B777 this year at the conference was a bad move from Rob in my opinion. When he says that, what do you want people to think :-(?

That's why I always tell people not to take rumours seriously. Didn't PMDG anticipate the NGX for November 2011? And in the end it got released 9 months later. Therefore don't expect the 777 earlier than Q3 2013. People always have the tendency to be over-optimistic, we always tend to anticipate things much earlier than we can actually finish them.

Thats true but as Robert said "let the previews begin" and then silent for months and now when people are asking and some whining about it threads get locked or just ignored by the staff.

I dont think thats fair.

Kind regards

Yeah I'm sure people are thinking back to the NGXs' development and comparing - but it's hard to not be optimistic when they talk about their new business model and how they can push things out faster since what they achieved with the NGX. Rob has spoke about how the 777 is taking a different development path unlike any other previous product in nearly every update we have.. Once again - what do you expect from people after talking with that kind of attitude towards the development? I mean they've been uploading stuff on to Facebook yet saying nada on here; you would have thought that flight deck shot would have been shown on here first, no?

Not looking to start any debats/arguments here, just stating my opinion; end of!

Hello

Does it really matter all that much ?, life does not revolve around having a 777 to fly in FSX.

Alex, you've been a member here for a very long time - you know very well how things operate for us during development and you know very well that we're still here and that there's no cause for "concern." I appreciate your reply Ryan, however if one compares the NGX with the 777 development cycle, you guys were keeping us much more updated on the progress. We have livery previews, we had flight deck previews.

Now, Robert said in march the word "a couple of months" now, we realise that this was probably down to a push from the texture artists to get something to "show" at the Munich conference.

A quick update on how things are going is all we ask for Ryan, there is no need to be on the defensive all the time, we all love pmdg products here, and we all support them in our own way. You got to take some negative feedback sometime ;)

Ignoring those threads rather than addressing them will shut 'em up.

:LMAO: Is that a fact? (i.e. I believe it) :Big Grin: Wait a sec... you mean Nov 2010? Because it was available during the 2012 MS-RTWR (in Feb.)

I may be hungry... but I'll just be patient and wait until called for dinner. No need to pester the cooks in the kitchen.

I have purchased all PMDG add-ons since the days of Fly! and the 757, which must be around 13yrs or so ago. Never in that time have I felt let down or ignored by PMDG, whether in a forum or in emails. I don't come here demanding information and other such things because PMDG's reputation is second to none and I can read!

I understand people are enthusiastic, but many of the topics and posts across all areas of the PMDG forum are simply unnecessary. Are they under any obligation to update us? No. Personally I would prefer them to spend as little time answering many of the pathetic posts on here and concentrate on what they do best.

I too want the 777, 747, DC6 and whatever comes next, but I also accept this is a hobby and really should not be taken so seriously. I shall now return to reading and laughing at the many posts...

Thanks Mat -|- Win 11 Pro, 14900K, Asus Strix Z790, 64Gb Corsair Vengeance, MSI 5090 - Hardware: MFG, Thrustmaster, Logitch, Honeycomb, Virpil, WinWing & Tobii. P3D v5 Pro, XP12, MSFS2020 & 2024 and way too many add-ons to mention! Simming since '95. Flying since '98.

"...Request: stop the request...."

How did we end up here....

It's not the '777' I'm waiting for, it's the version 2 QOS. :t4013:

Although I did make a "request" in the 747 forum on when the -8i update might be released, I agree that there's nothing to be gained by beating PMDG over the head in the hopes that they will relent and give us a mediocre product. I'd much rather be silent and "get it when I get it". That way, I'll know that it's a tight, well-made product.

Rock ON, PMDG team!

Haha, It just goes to show what I say is true all the time. The FS community is filled with selfish little people. I could put a high bet when the 777 is released people will start requesting things again. Makes me laugh.
