March 14, 201313 yr Moderator I'm pretty interested in this a/c as well. I dont own any JustFlight a/c so I have no idea about their quality, but I am hoping that this one is pretty good. I have set my expectations knowing that it most likely be on the level of what PMDG produces, but am hoping that its a lot better than what CLS and Abacus produce and that system wise its not too lite. Surely it wont be a "study sim" quality, but I hope its fairly in-depth. So far the screen shots look ok. Not overly impressed with the VC but its also not that bad looking either. March 14, 201313 yr Author @Stretch1365 I had emailed JF about the Delta paint and also asked about a paint kit. The answer was yes, they will both be included. Todd Fleck
March 14, 201313 yr Will we be able to replace the INS with a more modern FMC? I never understood why developers only give you one option. It does look good. Too bad by this time all Tristars are retired except for the RAF. I don't understand developers who didn't consider making decent custom GPS retrofit versions of classic aircraft (not simple implementation of default GPS, but fully functional custom made gps with AIRAC). Greater number of classics are updated with GPS and much less with FMC. Only one developer team managed to make something like that and that's Project Tupolev with their TU-154M with KLN90B which was very handy tool but that addon can't be used in FSX. And guess what?! TUPOLEV was and still is FREE!!! I will pay extra for that kind of tool which will make my online flying easier when it comes to complicated RNAV approaches and departures. But nooo. Developers are more occupied with pleasing average recreational pilots than serious simmers and they are working only on ''money makers aircraft''. Did they ever thought that some of those kids in some point of their simulation hobby will get bored of click and don't think way of flying and wished something more? Online flying with classic birds like L1011, DC-10, 747sp,200,300, 737-200, 727-200, Fokker-28,...etc. is great thrill and test of your pilot skills. That's why I will recommend it to all of you, and that's why I will always support developers which creates classic planes for FSX including Justflight with their L1011 despite it doesn't pleases me completely with it's functionality.

Surely it wont be a "study sim" quality, but I hope its fairly in-depth. JF take a lot of flak because some people buy their stuff expecting it to be a lot more detailed or in-depth than it actually is. They state themselves they don't cater to the kind of simmer who gets their kicks from delving into the depths of the PMDG 737NGX FMC or blowing cylinder heads on an Accu-Sim P-51. JF stuff is very much "kick the tires and light the fires" aimed at the simmer who doesn't regard CTRL-E as blasphemy. That's not to say it's bad, it's just pitched at a different market to the likes of PMDG. Better than default aircraft? Absolutely, but still closer to a default aircraft in terms of system depth and functionality than to the likes of PMDG or A2A. I also know some people don't like JF's visual style in their VCs, but that's a subjective matter. Bottom line is it's a Tristar, which I'm a huge fan of, and it's probably going to be the best Tristar that FSX ever sees. I just hope JF at some point does a VC10 or BAC 1-11. Nick
March 14, 201313 yr Hi all, Well let's face it, and it's only my opinion here! It's definitely a Tristar, it has a long list of features, which we haven't seen before on a Tristar model in the past, on any sim. The VC sure is a Tristar cockpit which we haven't had before in FSX. Your not going to get the likes of PMDG to do a plane like the Tristar because it's too quirky for their tastes...........and I might not live long enough, lol, sorry PMDG  They said once that there weren't enough sales from the MD11 so they wouldn't get enough from a Tristar, lol. I don't believe this is being done by Aeroplane heaven either, I may be wrong but I thought they had stopped developing recently. I know the Just flight guys do read the forum on this, and I think it might be an in house model, not sure! One thing is sure, by the looks of it and I have a couple of Just flight aircraft knocking around in my hanger, at least it will be easy on your frame rates and hopefully work great too. One comment though, not sure I need quite so many liveries! but the list seems to miss out the old Delta Airlines colours, surely one of the most distinctive on it's day! I can see one sitting there in the hanger waiting for a fly right now, only dreaming, well soon then. Happy Flying, :D How much money have they expected to earn by creating aircraft for FSX which is a game with small community if you compare it with WOW for example. I always hated greedy people no matter how talented they are.

March 14, 201313 yr The VC-10 may be on the way in the future. Thier Facebook page featured a VC-10 cockpit pic yesterday. An FSX native VC10? Put me down for three! What's more the cockpit pic they've posted is of a modern (and I use that term loosely!) RAF VC10. I hope they do an original 1960's BOAC configuration. Nick
March 14, 201313 yr I just visited their website, and the Tristar screenshots keep getting better and better. Looks extremely nice. Florian
March 14, 201313 yr Commercial Member It's an RAF spec cockpit. They team had been up at RAF Brize norton yesterday and had a good look around the old tristars and VC-10's. And seriously, no ones got the VC-10 yet. Lol
March 14, 201313 yr I've had several JF aircraft. The 757 professional (although I believe it was developed by Capt Sim), is one of my favorite aircraft. The the DC-10 "f-lite" is simply terrible. I guess it comes down to each person's standard. Abacus shouldn't even be in the discussion as Their offerings are about as bad as it gets and a complete waste of money at any price. Love the L-1011 and like the promo on JF website. Will be giving it a try.
March 14, 201313 yr Commercial Member Abacus shouldn't even be in the discussion as Their offerings are about as bad as it gets and a complete waste of money at any price. Their planes maybe, but the fun fact is that many of the most popular free and payware birds were created using FS Design Studio which is a brilliant program sold by Abacus.
