FSX addon spending

Featured Replies

I wonder how much do you spend in a month for FSX addons? There are lots of scenery releasing each month so I wanted to learn what is the average amount you spend on them? I wasn't playing FSX for a longtime but when I got new laptop, I returned to play it and I have bought lots of scenery this month.

FSX addons is like smoking marijuana. It's highly addictive. You'll sell everything you own to purchase some more.

I have too many to count and i'm estimating that I have purchased well over $1,000

I purchase one or two add-ons every few months. I almost always wait for reviews, as I must use my limited budget wisely.

Zero, freeware only, and make my own photo scenery

I don't want to know, otherwise I'll get depressed :(

X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020  🙂

System specs: Windows 11  Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF  Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM  1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12,  1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

I try to limit myself to about $50 a month. Doesn't always work, though.

ditto :drinks:

Total for 2012 is $300 for software and $170 for hardware. Call it $25 per month for software

Total for 2011 is $90 for software.

Total for 2008 to 2010 is $100 for software and $450 for hardware.

I got FSX as a Christmas gift in 2007. I didn't count that. :)

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;

I was amazingly prolific in purchasing for FSX once; probably at least $100 a month, but that has come to a complete halt.

We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... To the rest of the Universe atomically.

Me too.

Usually I wait for reviews, except if tit's a "trusted"developer like ORBX. And if there's a new release that I've waited for a long time it may happen that I go over my limit.

I used to spend quite a lot, but with all the copy protection and activation that follows with many addons these days I rarely buy anyting. Money saved and I have lots of fun discovering great freeware.

Clearly you know nothing about marijuana.

Anyway, I don't really keep track although I'm sure it's way more than I should spend. It makes me happy though, so I don't stress over it too much. Now if I could just get the wife to get that second job...

Too much, that´s for sure. But 90% from sales, so it is not that bad and I´m very very picky, so I guess it is on reasonable grounds.
