I dont understand. Why is it a "she" and not a he?

I think the tradition derives from the nautical world, where ships are always 'she', as to why that is.. not sure.

Wow, what a beauty!

I'm an equal fan of Airbus and Boeing; but for me, I can just see this being a big winner for Airbus. And if they're careful and don't (or should I say haven't) cut corners, they could indeed capitalize on Boeing's current low spot (reliability and safety perception issues with the 787 and her 'integrated firework system' ...... a.k.a melting and exploding batteries!).

On the gender thing; whereas the 787 looks like a sleek, demure beauty (eg.. female), this A350 does indeed look like it really packs a punch; looks very masculine and strong! So maybe it is a fella..

Airbus just posted a youtube clip from the paint-reveal, pretty much the same but couple new cool views

Damn! I thought you meant the Pmdg 777 :)

Ronan,

Please be more careful next time not to push my PMDG 777 panic button!

Using a title like "She's Out" could easily have resulted in my estate suing you for inducing a deadly high blood pressure spike.

Kind Regards,

haha, exactly what I thought too :)

Beech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?
ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry.

Beautiful. Are EIN replacing their A330's with these Ro, or keeping both? Will you be flying them when they enter service?

We will be keeping the A330s and operating the A350s along side them. As things stand, we've been lead to believe that the type rating for the A330 will cover the A350 provided a differences course is completed, so that means that I should indeed be flying both the A330 and A350 at the same time (maybe even the A320 still???  ).

Delivery for us is targeted at Q3 2015, but that might be pushed back as Airbus have approached us asking us to take the lead on getting the A321NEO ETOPS rated similar to what we did with the A330 back in 1994. This may result in the first 2 A350s being pushed back to late 2016/early 2017, but I'll certainly still be flying them all things going to plan.

Sounds good Ro!

Do you prefer flying long or short haul? I always imagined that if I did that for a living I would like flying the short hops better.

I can't wait to sit into the new flight deck,

Neither can I, wonder who will be the first to "do" the 350? I'm putting the money aside now..;-)

Are they going to release it for fs9? i see a big X on this one

Sorry if it is a repeated joke, didn't read the whole 5 pages...

Bottom line, amazing aircraft, well done airbus...

High speed taxi tests taking pace right this minute, we're only days away from first flight now...   :Applause:

Ró.

Hope they'll announce it far enough in advance that we can set up a live-stream at uni. That's if they do a live-stream of course. I understand Airbus wanting to keep stuff under wraps, but a live-stream of the first flight would be nice.
