Damn, that cockpit is a home cockpit builder"s dream come true! So easy to replicate with 17" widescreen monitors.

But the cockpit windows from the outside, for some reason, remind me of the space shuttle.

Whether it's Airbus or Boeing, they're still airplanes

I don't quite agree with that... True they are both just airplanes and they act the same at the core but they are completely different types of planes and they are completely different to fly and they have completely different feelings when flying them. You can't just fly a 737 then go fly a a320. I can't for my life fly an airbus properly in the sim no matter how I try because of how different it is from a Boeing.

Well, admittedly I only have experience with the NGX and the AXE, but I don't find flying them all that different.

Manual flying: pull control device up, houses get smaller, push control device forward/down, houses get larger. Waggle control device from side to side and you tip the plane over.

Automatic flying: enter route into the box, select desired altitude, activate a lateral and a vertical autopilot mode, hit AP master switch.

Sure there some differences in what happens if you let go of the stick, but if you watch what the plane does and base your control inputs on that you hardly notice the difference. The automatic flight modes are even more similar, even if A and B like to muddy the waters by coming up with different names for things that act pretty similarly.

Looks brilliant :) any idea on it's testing schedule?

The official schedule hasn't been released to the public, but the general thinking on it is that the first flight will be the week before the Paris Air Show, and hopefully they'll get to show her off there, but as of this minute, she's not officially scheduled to show up there...  B)  Within the next 4 weeks anyways should be first flight...

I can't wait to sit into the new flight deck, HUD as standard, built in EFBs, keyboard and mouse pad! Just noticed that the rudder pedals are different to the standard pedals airbus use, wonder the logic behind the change.

Hello  Ro,

I don't blame you for being excited, looks like a awesome plane and I am sure after years on the 320/330 your ready for a new plane.    I like the wings  looks nice, cockpit looks like it's going to be awesome.  Maybe you can help FSL sim one years from now :)
