I can't wait to sit into the new flight deck, HUD as standard, built in EFBs, keyboard and mouse pad! Just noticed that the rudder pedals are different to the standard pedals airbus use, wonder the logic behind the change.

Hello Ro,

I don't blame you for being excited, looks like a awesome plane and I am sure after years on the 320/330 your ready for a new plane. I like the wings looks nice, cockpit looks like it's going to be awesome. Maybe you can help FSL sim one years from now :)

FSL have got plenty of models to be getting on with xD A320, A321, A319, maybe A318, A330, A340, A380, A350.

The 330 is still a lovely aircraft, and the 320 is still great fun too. But indeed it will be nice to take a new bird into the air after 19 years on the A330/A320...  ^_^

I'm sure I'll have plenty of data for FSL by the time they get around to the A350 a couple years down the line...  ^_^

Looks better than I thought...

Looks better than I thought. At first I thought it looked a little futuristic...

I think it looks quite futuristic as it is, the nose section in particular reminds me of a spaceship...  ^_^

It is really nice looking though, those winglets in particular...  ^_^

I look at this picture and think to myself, 'hold on guys your not done, the engines aren't on the plane yet'... ^_^

Let's celebrate when this thing is flying. You saw what happened to the 787.

The official schedule hasn't been released to the public, but the general thinking on it is that the first flight will be the week before the Paris Air Show, and hopefully they'll get to show her off there, but as of this minute, she's not officially scheduled to show up there...  B)  Within the next 4 weeks anyways should be first flight...

Regards,

Ró.

They did learn their lesson from the 787 hence why they cancelled all the big fanfare around the release/first flight and are actually getting it airborne as "under the radar" as possible (excuse the bad pun.)  No parties, no huge press releases just finish the work and get it airborne.

RO,

The nose actually reminds me of the shape of the 787, I wonder if that is the new aerodynamics of the future.  It does look like it has 32 Pitot tubes on the nose though is that their answer to the 330/340 issues    :He He:   Those wings are beautiful!  :Applause:

She's out of the painting Hangar!!!  ^_^      B)

Wow! They even painted on the engines! :LMAO:

When I flew to Wichita, Kansas for the AVSIM FanCon last weekend, I went on an AA ERJ-140 and returned on an ERJ-145.

When boarding the 2:46 minute late outbound flight, I caught the eyes of the pilot and FO while admiring the really tiny "front office..."

...before I could stop myself I blurted out "Oh my, what a cute toy cockpit!"  They both took it in good humor fortunately and admitted that it was a very tight fit.

It was probably fortunate I was wearing my clerical suit at the time though... :LMAO:

Psst... if you promise not to tell, I'll let you in on a secret..... It's ok to love both Boeing and Airbus planes, plenty of people do... but remember it's our secret, so don't tell anyone. If two other members of the secret liking-both-A-and-B club also sponsor you I'll show you the secret handshake and invite you to a meeting

Looks like they have a couple of sensors (pitot/static and AoA most likely) on the side of the nose, but the things on the top look like vortex generators to me, those generally point to inefficient aerodynamic design though, so it's kinda odd to see them there. As this is a prototype it probably has a bunch of extra sensors too. I got to see the trailing edge flaps for MSN003 a while ago and those had a bunch of microphones stuck on for aerodynamic measurements.

Edit: having just seen this video off the roll-out:

they're definitely sensors of some kind, not vortex generators.

.....  I am in agreement with on this one and aircraft's are built to make money.

Hahaha ...... you wouldn't think so would you? Judging by comments in this thread it is safe to assume that some believe that aircraft are built only to look good in their chosen sim.

Ronan,

Please be more careful next time not to push my PMDG 777 panic button!

Using a title like "She's Out" could easily have resulted in my estate suing you for inducing a deadly high blood pressure spike.

Yes this is part of our hobby, just like those model train guys making little box cars and get excited by the realism. Most people don't get it as we are a crazy bunch....LOL
