March 14, 201313 yr I come at it from a different angle. I like and use the iPad and iPhone, but I don't think a relative shortage of Plane apps on Android is due to better or worse performance hardware-wise. Company after company just finds it much harder to confirm compatibility across all the zillions of Android devices, manufacturers and form factors. And its getting worse, not better. Enough so that many are simply concentrating on the easier, more stable target. Which is Apple. We are all connected..... To each other, biologically...... To the Earth, chemically...... I beg to differ: ALL signs point to Android becoming the dominant player THIS year based on IDC data (sources released today cited below) Not to mention Samsung's recent push for "Enterprise Android" is going to be a serious player and there are some ruggedized W8 tablets with hot swappable batteries just around the corner. March 14, 201313 yr One thing that annoys me about Apple is how they release things out of nowhere, like I go ahead and purchase an iPhone 5, then the iPhone 5s releases out of nowhere. (Yes, there actually is one coming out soon) Thats one of the best parts about Apple, the element of surprise is great! They only give about 1-2 weeks of notice about dates of a Key Note/Conference. Get to know how they work, then you wont be caught up with the confusion of what to buy, and when to buy it. For example, they usually release "Official" iPhones (not 4S/5S's) around September time once every two years. iPad announcements in March/April (It may be August/September this year). Mac's,MacBook's, iMacs, Mac Mini new Software etc.. announced in June/July.

You seem to be talking about device sales while I am talking app availability and preferences How Apple gets all the good Apps. As Android device penetration exceeds Apples by greater and greater numbers, There would normally be enormous pressure to program new Apps on Android first, but many believe fragmentation does and will severely hold back the trend for quite some time to come. Right now, any potential Android developer has to contend with numerous Android operating systems, including Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, honeycomb, Ice Cream sandwich..... and more. This forces developers through an expensive (and time consuming) process of testing their Apps to confirm compatibility not only for those multiple operating systems, but also for multiple resolutions memory sizes form factors..... They have been complaining for a long time. Developers favor iOS Google is aware of the issue..... Addressing Android fragmentation and I'm sure they will address it, but meanwhile, circumstances and sheer inertia means programmers still favor iOS. Which is why (I suspect) it seems a lot of apps people here are looking for are not cross platform yet. Its just simpler (and still very lucrative) to do Apple first right now. March 15, 201313 yr What I don't understand is why some people are so adverse to people discussing differing opinions. How is it a flame war? Who is trying to force anything on anyone. Lighten up guys, we don't all have to share the same opinion to have an educated, respectful discussion... To answer your question can't we all just get along, absolutely but that doesn't mean we all have to share the same opinion or refrain from expressing it in a civil manner, absolutely not... How BORING would the world be if we all just got along and never discussed or debated? It is called being passionate. Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
March 15, 201313 yr I'm an android guy. (I'd add a smiley, but the Reply control panel is disabled). A similar thing happened to me recently Alan with everything grayed out. I had to enable bb code, possibly one of the forum updates turned it off  Chris Sunseri
March 15, 201313 yr Moderator pinlifter, Thanks for the tip! And just for the record... I'm just trying to respect the wishes of the OP. From his original post (bold for emphasis): Being an Android user I sometimes feel slighted when I see lots of apps for Apple users being developed for FSX and only a few for us lowly Android users. I realize that developers must go in the direction that will maximize their investment, but sometimes wonder if there are in fact MORE of us than they realize. So here's a chance for us to be heard on both sides and lets see what it shows. I hope this works, the preview doesn't show the Poll I created........Oh well, here goes....EDIT: Just want to add "This is NOT ABOUT which one is a "better" system!!! Debate is healthy and productive; there's nothing wrong with that.
