Sorry mate, I wasn't being funny. It's just that all of our sig banners for either FS2Crew, PMDG or any payware that offers a sig banner is a form of advertising, like wearing a T-Shirt with Coke a Cola on the front. I didn't criticize, just pointing out the irony ^_^

I will stick to reading here and on PMDG website

Do me a favor Alex. Stop interpreting for us. These are the PMDG forums and are "owned" by PMDG. They can post screen shots here, advertise here, do whatever they want here, including setting their own rules for your use of their forums, as they want.

If PMDG are the 'owners' of these forums then those that are banned from the AVSIM forums can still access/post on the PMDG forums?

No they can't. Read our Terms of Service.

Why are some of you guys so radical? It's a free service. Use it, view the pictures, then delete your account. Or, welcome to 2013, and use it as a tool to meet with friends and family. You don't even have to put where you're from.. Just name and email address.

Some people simply don't like Facebook, I'm planning on getting rid of my account as I keep in contact with only 4-5 people who are in my friends list. The rest are people from highschool who i don't keep in touch with anymore.

Because Facebook is about 5% keeping up with friends and family and 95% pure junk.  My wife quit using Facebook 3 years ago, and I'm getting burned out rather quickly myself.  There's only so much "Help me get 1,000,000 likes because I ate a candy bar" posts and random game/app requests that 1 man can take.

Remember MySpace and how you HAD to have a page?  It was the Bees Knees 6-7 years ago, and it faded into oblivion.  I see the same fate for Facebook, Twitter, etc in the future

Well, call me old fashioned but I use the tried and true method of a phone call, or even an email. Just because it's "2013" doesn't make it better. I don't understand the need to broadcast your every activity through Facebook.

I don't think anyone should sign up to anything they don't want to - regardless of how popular it may be.

Likely the only reason they update the Facebook is to draw peoples attention to the project as it reaches completion. It's just a little annoying how we haven't had a proper preview with some detailing on the screenshots since July last year. They've mostly been Facebook cover photos and a couple of raw screenshots to help fundraising an event.

If this is their new way of updating throughout developments, then I'm very happy I have no desire to follow any other development after the 777 is released

You guys still don't get it right?

Joining the Facebook does not mean it will automatically add all sorts of obnoxious people, or that it will automatically post everything you are doing.

Join Facebook, add no one, use it to look at interesting pages (PMDG, FSLabs, AirDailyX etc.). Hell, use fake name if you wish.

I Agree. Some more detailed information other than the usual "The PMDG 777 is coming along really nicely" every couple of months would be nice. Although I believe that the plane is coming along nicely and will be, once released, an incredible addon, it would've been great to see some new screenshots (or even a video). Considering that PMDG transferred parts of their development team to other projects last year which was, I quote, a "really good sign for all of you that are awaiting release of the PMDG 777!" (Mr. Randazzo on Dec 22, 2012), I am a bit troubled that nearly three more months have passed and nothing happened (well, at least nothing visible for the average customer).

Nevertheless, I cannot believe that the release is near. I would guess it requires some marketing beforehand (releasing screenhots or videos for online shops, FS websites and forums) in order to attract other customers who are not visiting this forum every day   .

Cheers,

Markus

You don't have to see those things...

Exactly what I think.

Sorry to state the obvious but you don't need to register on Facebook to read anything public.

Facebook definitely has problems in the future, that's for sure (just watch its share price, built on the idea it has 900 million unique human members - I know two people who between them have 11 fake accounts to cheat at the games).

As for our Chinese friend, spare a thought for him - not everyone lives in the "free" United States.

Besr regards,

Robin.
