Another Tri-Star Coming (CaptainSim)

I am really looking forward to the MV737, glad to hear it is in beta; information on it has been slow in coming.

Well another new plane and another unfinished plane. But if we dig something positive, with classics CS is at its best. Their T7 was huge disappointment and while there are the best coming to market with T7, they have lost that battle. When competing with JF, they have an edge to be number one, and make some money.

Their looks are amazing, but they need to also make the hard part with the systems all the way.

Although I can fly the CS777 there are still features that need to be implemented.

Imho it had been better putting 100% effort in finishing the 777, than dividing the work over 2 aircraft so the next 777 update will take longer....

She looks amazing, probably the usual hoops and ladders to get it to work right but, yeah, I like the look of it very much.

With regards to a service pack for the 777, I agree in principle.  Maybe it is the case that the programmers at CS are indeed working on a service pack for the 777 while the graphics designers are working on the Tristar therefore, no conflict.  But since PMDG is making a functioning 777 that should work properly, albeit without a comparable cabin, EFB (maybe) or wX, I would personally like CS to invest the time and energy to making their Tristar the best product they have ever produced and, when they finish, make a DC8 then a DC10.

Fritz

CS is virtually unflyable.  Example:  KPDX-KSFO CS 707.  Easy flight right?  Not if a Captain Sim product.  Got 3 engines started and the 4th wouldn't start so had to do a control E...I hate that.  The horizontal indicator never got level in stayed tilted 25 degrees the whole flight.  The AP malfunctioned.  In a split second it seems the VS indicator went from -2,000 fps to +4,000 fps.  The acceleration seems to be way to optimistic and the flight dynamics are simply wrong!  In the AP panel in the VC and the pop up window the mode selector did not work at all.  Part way through the flight I did and OPUS update on the weather and the CS 707 disappeared from the sky entirely and never returned although it was still flying I could not see the vc or the exterior model.

I am so frustrated with CS.  The planes look beautiful and I really want to fly them but it's simply impossible.  I do not have problems with any of my other 50 addons!!!

The CS 777?  Don't get me started.

Personally I rather see CS making their Tristar properly than updating previous products.

Other than 777 all the previous products are perfectly flyable, and I will make no use of their 777 anyway when PMDG gets released, and that shouldn't take too long.

Though of course they should keep developing their 777 until it's at least as good as their 767 in terms of functionality.

Fingers crossed they manage to pull this off.  I have their 737 and while it looks good, I never fly it because it's just full of  frustrating bugs.

Developing a good airliner needs more resources, talent, expertise and experience than 98% of any FS add on company can deliver. I'm simming long enough to have learned that only a tiny number of companies are worth buying from. Everything else is waste of time, the best is just good enough. Purchased CS's 757 once ago, that plane is a disaster. Will not buy from them again, and I never expect them to change to the better in a miracle.

I know, lots of people don't agree, but I don't really care. Everything's well as long as everybody has fun...

They've just deleted questions in their own forum, asking what their customers can expect regarding completion of their '777 Captain'.

So I second that, this miracle isn't going to happen, IMO.

What happened to AVSIM

They delete everything they dislike, so i deleted them from my developers list as well. I quit their forum, stopped painting addons for them and won't buy anything from them unless it's complete or unless they finish what i have bought from them already.

They will either learn or fail.

According to the FAA registry theres a few still registered within the database. Whether their in flyable condition or not is the real question. I know the L1011 at MKC (Kansas City) is engine-less, but since I believe Captain Sim is based somewhere in Europe I doubt any of these aircraft would be candidates for a photo-shoot. But the only ones who know would be the CS development team.

Given that there's a cargo service that operates out of east midlands (EGNX) with L-188s in their fleet, I find it hard to believe that any aircraft of any age are truly totally out of service everywhere.

And CS are in russia, I believe.

There's still some L1011s operating on a charter basis I think.
