April 2, 201313 yr +1 to above. Makes me very skeptical to take the plunge on another CS plane. I will still give them the benefit of the doubt, although a week from now if they release the 0.5 alpha so one can pay their way into a public testing I will be disappointed. The EUR10 counts as a credit for the eventual v1.0 product, so if you don't want to spend money on the alpha you can always wait. Its a fun line product, so expect even lower than usual systems depth/accuracy. Nice catch, their last Fun Line product was the B-52
April 2, 201313 yr Anyone tried to merge the Captainsim external model with the Just Flight VC? Yes, my thought exactly.... Would be the best of both Tristar worlds for the time being, wouldn't it. As expected the CS external model is simply gorgeous and the JF VC is not bad at all. I've got JF VC and panel merged with the CS external alright but, also as expected, there are a view problems to tackle. F.i. i can't get the ATS switch to work (Ctrl-M not working either), also Nav 1/2 doesn't work. Other AP functions seem to work fine. Testing both the CS and JF air files and will have to dig into the aircraft.cfg's. If i can get it all working it sure is a nice combo ! Edit: ATS switch now works too ( at_arming_required: JF=0 , CS=(was)1. onwards with Nav.. B) ) Jan
April 2, 201313 yr Its a fun line product, so expect even lower than usual systems depth/accuracy. Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk HD That's one way of getting rid of bugs, leave out the systems altogether. I guess an INS is out of the question then. Todd Fleck
April 2, 201313 yr CS is virtually unflyable. Example: KPDX-KSFO CS 707. Easy flight right? Not if a Captain Sim product. Got 3 engines started and the 4th wouldn't start so had to do a control E..well i think i have to defend CS here. I dont know how you fly the CS 707 and for how long but its one of the planes i fly quite often and i never had any problems with it. Not with starting the engines, not with the AP and anything else. Maybe you do something wrong. Same for the 732. You cant say "CS is virtually unflyable". Do you own all of their products? Are you sure you did everything correctly? How do you know that flight dynamics are wrong when in fact, you havent even seen the plane from inside? What i do like to see is a working INS. Not just a 2D panel that is included by some modifications. I work in the VC and i dont like 2D panels. Tebin Ulrich
April 2, 201313 yr I eagerly await CS Tristar, I don't have to even consider the other choice. And their 737 is just marvellous. I don't like the performance of the CS 737 during banking. Every plane starts to lose altitude when you do this (without autopilot engaged), but then they increase speed, and start to pull up again. As far as I can see, the CS 737 just continues to drop until it hits the deck. However, with the 707/727/737 they don't have the sophisticated systems and flight aids, that combined with poor hand-flying characteristics makes them a headache to use Despite my criticism of the 737, I disagree with the above post. The CS 707 is a joy to hand fly. April 2, 201313 yr Despite my criticism of the 737, I disagree with the above post. The CS 707 is a joy to hand fly. The 707 is easily the best of the 3, and I thought that it flew "ok" Until I flew the Coolsky DC-9, that is how a plane should hand-fly. CS, 707 included doesn't even come close. Todd Fleck
April 2, 201313 yr Commercial Member Despite my criticism of the 737, I disagree with the above post. The CS 707 is a joy to hand fly. I agree. I findtheir 727 very dead and boring to hand fly, 737 almost as bad too, but the 707 really feels good to hand fly. Not as good as PMDG birds, Coolsky DC-9 and such, but still pretty nice.
April 2, 201313 yr Key Features: • Captain Sim quality and realism seriously? lol I learned my lesson about CS the hard way... They will never get my money ever again.
April 2, 201313 yr I may be wrong but CS has a bunch of unfinished planes out right now. Right? If so why would any of you buy this Mike Avallone [email protected],Corsair H115i cooler,ASUS 2080TI,GSkill 32GB pc3600 ram, 2 WD black NVME ssd drives, ASUS maximus hero MB
April 2, 201313 yr I don't think CS has the talent or the knowledge to completely finish any of their products and fix all the bugs. If they did, the 757 would have been fixed already, and their 777 would be polished before they started working on another aircraft. Their current business model is very much like those cheap plastic toys you buy at dollar stores. Who cares if it falls apart when you open the plastic, it was cheap anyway and plenty of people buy them to keep the company in business. Personally I don't care if they live or die. All I care is my money staying in my wallet and out of their hands, and that part is pretty easy to do since I won't buy from them ever. AJ Pongress
April 2, 201313 yr Commercial Member I don't think it's about talent or knowledge, if you manage to create a whole aircraft that somewhat works okay you should be able to finish it too if you want to. I think they simply don't bother as fixing old products doesn't make money while creating new ones does. Of course in the end it might be bad for them if enough people stop buying their products.
April 2, 201313 yr I may be wrong but CS has a bunch of unfinished planes out right now. Right? If so why would any of you buy this For me it was only their (not so much disputed) legacy C-130 (FS9) and their 777 in a 9.99 sale. So there are only 9.99 for me at stake. That's o.k. for the liveries and a basic flight model with some basic instrumentation. (...) Their current business model is very much like those cheap plastic toys you buy at dollar stores. Who cares if it falls apart when you open the plastic, it was cheap anyway and plenty of people buy them to keep the company in business. (...) There's one HUGE difference and that's the price. CS's "toys" sell at a nominal price of up to 59.99 Euros (V.A.T. included). That's PMDG range! What happened to AVSIM

April 2, 201313 yr They delete everything they dislike, so i deleted them from my developers list as well. I quit their forum, stopped painting addons for them and won't buy anything from them unless it's complete or unless they finish what i have bought from them already. They will either learn or fail. +1 Jim Driscoll, MSI Raider GE76 12UHS-607 17.3" Gaming Laptop Computer - Blue Intel Core i9 12th Gen 12900HK 1.8GHz Processor; NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti 16GB GDDR6; 64GB DDR5-4800 RAM; Dual M2 2TB Solid State Drives.Driving a Sony KD-50X75, and KDL-48R470B @ 4k 3724x2094,MSFS 2020, 30 FPS on Ultra Settings. April 3, 201313 yr FYI there's a thread in the Captainsim forums with instructions for merging the Captainsim model with the Just Flight VC. I haven't tried it yet but I think it will be a seamless merge, as both are 'lite' products with no over-zealous DRM protection. For people on the sidelines, I would think of it this way: EUR45/US$60 is the price of entry for the L-1011. You get the Just Flight VC and the -500 model, and the Captainsim -1 model.
