March 27, 201313 yr Im cautiously optimistic about this. I love their 707, but from what I have heard I lucked out and bought one of their least buggy products. The L1011 and the whole first generation of widebodies are some of my absolute favorite aircraft, so I really hope this flies as well as it looks. Being that they seem to waiting until the product is farther than just a shell of an exterior, maybe they will finally learn their lessons from the previous few releases. Right now I am wondering about INS integration. You would hope that they go the FSlabs route and fully integrate the CIVA INS into the product, but the one they modeled looks different. Anybody recognize it? Daniel Miller
March 27, 201313 yr I wish CS did something like a DC-8, and finished their past products, including the 777. But as they always do, move on to a new product without finishing the last. do they ever learn? Absolutely not!
March 27, 201313 yr If Captain Sim have been working on this for the past few months before JF's announcement of their Tri-Star in development then thats ok. But If they saw that JF were working on one, and there-for decided to develop one themselves, then I have no respect for them.

The lead times for software development are usually pretty long - especially to be at the point to show any screenies, so I'd guess they didn't choose it purely because JF did; it's probably just a coincidence. I'd echo that I'd like to see them build a DC-8!
March 27, 201313 yr It seems like its at an advanced stage of development (relatively speaking) so its probably hard to say who was working on it first. But who knows

March 28, 201313 yr I bet there's a reason the screen shots were put up today though lol that was no mistake
March 28, 201313 yr The CS always reels me in based on eyecandy then dissapoints me when I can't get it too fly right! Instead of releasing this one they should shelve it and go fix all the others that need fixing, repair their reputation, then come back and give us a completed product!
March 28, 201313 yr Captainsim pretty much sets the standard in terms of eye candy, Just Flight and Black box take note. By the look of the screenshots (especially the back of the cockpit) they definitely did a photoshoot with a real intact aircraft, which I previously thought was impossible as most of them are either already parted out or turned into Coke cans.

Whether their in flyable condition or not is the real question. I know the L1011 at MKC (Kansas City) is engine-less, but since I believe Captain Sim is based somewhere in Europe I doubt any of these aircraft would be candidates for a photo-shoot. But the only ones who know would be the CS development team.

Thinking about it, I believe there is one fully intact L-1011 sitting on Don Muang airport @ Bangkok, It's that old Sands Casino aircraft which couldn't get away before the floods hit in 2011. I'm not sure if it's still there though. Or they could've done it with one of those RAF Tristars, perhaps at an airshow or something. Who knows.
March 28, 201313 yr I have all of CS aircraft and their T7 is not even flyable in the way the systems are suppose to work, can"t they get one plane right before bringing out another? JeffG Jeffrey Gerbert
March 28, 201313 yr +1- screenshots like that don't just appear I'm quite looking forward to this- not sure about the systems but the screenshots are amazing. I am hoping for well simulated systems, in particular the Flight Engineer's panels. I would like to learn how to make it all work from inside-out. My favorite aspect of the screenshots is the wear and tear, i.e. chips in paint, scuff marks. The rudder pedals look like they have been kicked around. As much as I like previews, I also like surprise releases. Keith Guillory
March 28, 201313 yr In regards to the 737-200, Milviz has theirs in BETA, and Milviz not only makes really nice looking aircraft their FDE and systems are usually top notch as well.
