Another Tri-Star Coming (CaptainSim)

Featured Replies

Ok boys,

Look at the way CaptainSim fights with Just Flight.

CS fought with JF with the 737-100/200, and now, they are again fighting on the Tristar...

Its visuals will probably be better. I am interested in how the two will compare otherwise.

In fairness to CS, the tristar has been consistantly one of the most requested additions to FSX payware, it may well just be coincidence / CS tipping their hand after JF's effort.

Anyway, the more trijets the better.

Actually I like the neat and tidy way JF makes addons. The CS T7 is way too heavy on framerates and quite unstable sometimes.

Although I would never again buy another attempt at a modern Airliner by CS, I do like their 707 and 727 (and their a 732 a bit!), so for me, their vintage aircraft are better..... so this one may be ok.

I've tried really hard to like CS but with the new T7 whenever I think about flying it I choose not too!  just too many bugs makes it a hassle to fly and ultimately unsatisfying.  The T7 simply is not ready for market.  They need to finish it.  I'm guessing the L-1011 will be the same 'ole "pay-for-beta-release."

Correction: I'll buy it in December when it's $13.00.

I will have to wait and see on this one. CaptainSim doing a TriStar is cool and all, but I really, really wish they would have spent the resources to fix what they have already released before taking on another project.

Honestly, I would have rather seen an SP177 for the 737.

CS's Tristar looks 1000 times better than JF's. Pertinent question... can it fly?

I bet it can't, although CS's steam gauge planes are usually good.

Yay, another CS plane I won't buy.

Probably they will have a July 4th sale this year.

Well it looks good.

CS is good at their old aircraft, I was hoping for a 747 classic from them first but this is ok too

Hmm very interesting, I've been wondering what they would make next, I hoped they would make 747 classic but apparently it's Tristar then, not a bad choice anyway.

Their classic planes have usually been better than their modern ones, probably I will eventually buy this as it will also include older Tristar models, not just the -500 version.

I just hope they don't mess up the release like with the 777.

For now JF version will sure keep me busy for a long time.

Well it looks good.

My 2 cents is that they aren't going to rush this one as bad as they did the T7. By the look of this preview, they already have a VC almost done, and haven't released one of their gimmicky exterior-only releases for this. I hope they've learned to use their time wisely. Experience has told us they do best with old planes, and hopefully this stands true with this release. If they do go the CIP way, I'll surely grab it for 10 euro as this could be a winner.

On a bit of a personal note, god I hope they fixed the gauge refresh issues so that the engine gauges aren't so jumpy like they were in the 737, which IMO killed the realism.
