The way PMDG handles the way it communicates with customers about releases, Capt. Randazzo unfortunetly did not get my vote for Avsim award.

Their tech department is absolute best. I just don't get the stupid silent release crap.

The reputation of the company is a bit more important to Robert than your vote for the Avsim award. Announcing a release date is a disaster.

Do you think they really want to deal with all the commotion if they announce a release date and a technical issue prevents that from happening?

+++1 for common sense being displayed instead of all this childish plethora of 'Gimme....gimme....gimme.....damn it, I said gimme NOW!' from quite a few posters short on patience.

Got to agree with PMDG's "no pre-announced release date" policy.  Frustrating to not know when it might come but realistic given how software development goes.

I have no choice, just wait, wait ...
But the day will come, a flight Rio de Janeiro / Paris.

An "update" does not mean give me release date.. They released training manuals back in what? August of last year? There has been maybe 4-5 updates, and few screenshots. I know PMDG is the top dog in the industry so they can do what they want, but when when I was bored with the level d 767 and the pmdg 747, I went with Ifly 737 instead of theirs.. I'm sure I'm not the only one out there and If there was a better competitor for 777 other than captain sim I would buy theirs just because I like their business model better than keeping customers in the dark for months at a time. Captain Randazzo can save the companies reputation by making top not products but hes hurting it in other prospects. Take a look at Drzewiecki Design and Pro Atc X, Constantly updating on project updates and there isnt any kind of drama on their forums regarding release dates and other things. Oh BTW what happened to FScaptain!??!

I gave up on checking for updates on a regular basis. 

As far as the 757 goes, I check every 3 months - On Jan 1, 2013 I posted "Anything New?" I got a dopey reply.  Checked inMarch - no new posts/updates since 2010.

 

That along with the 777's long wait, left me disenchanted with the whole flight sim experience.  Now it's Spring time in NY and I'll start my outdoor hobbies like golf, car racing, time at the beach etc. We hit 80 degrees today in Long Island.  I played 18 holes at Bethpage.  The 777 is the last thing on my mind. 

 

I hope the 777 comes out in Dec of 2013 so I won't have to waste perfect weather sitting at home flying on my PC.

 

I wonder if anyone else north of N40 degrees parallel feels the same.

 

 

For all impatient flyers - during 777 waiting time i suggest to fly Qualitywings 146.

This little bird is so enjoyable, and so well done - truly worth of recommendation.

PMDG will only release updates when the community is complaining.

 

After a long thread complaining about scilence, PMDG then posted an update "OH LET THE PREVIEWS BEGIN!" to keep everyone calm promising constant pictures.

 

And now almost another month has gone by of complete scilence.

You're right, they have a reputation of releasing products that actually work and aren't pushed out the door full of bugs because they listened to complainers in forums.
