May 18, 201313 yr Hi! I've been searching for some good, large propliners to fly in FS9. However, I can't find much. I want something I can fly fast over long distances, preferably 4-engine. I want something with high quality panels and sounds, freeware or payware. Any suggestions?
May 18, 201313 yr Well, it has high quality, panel, sounds and VC, and freeware, but it's only a twin: Rick Piper's HS748. However, I don't remember where did I download it. May 19, 201313 yr Rick Piper's 748 is excellent but it is not a long haul airliner. If you want a very good classic long haul propliner then try Manfred Jahn's freeware Lockheed Constellation / Super Constellation / Starliner series. There are reasonably good quality freeware sounds and panels available for these on Calclassic and the usual freeware websites. In addition a payware sound set recently became available for the L749 Constellation which I use and it sounds fairly realistic. Bill
May 20, 201313 yr Isn't the MAAM's DC 3 for fs9 now a freeware? Cough . . . only if you have an illegal copy. Here is the official MAAM-SIM page, price US$30: http://www.maam.org/flightsim/PACKAGES/R4D.htm John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
May 20, 201313 yr Rick Pipers Vanguard is nice, but no VC. Four engines and a serious turn of speed. ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
May 20, 201313 yr The Calclassics DC-6B may be the plane of your choice - as it is for me. Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
May 20, 201313 yr If you want something a little faster than the DC-6B, try the DC-7 or DC-7B. Or any of the Super Connies or Starliner too. Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
May 21, 201313 yr Calclassic.com is the ONLY place to really get into propliners. very experienced folks in the forum area there, as well as a nice and wide selection of propliners, scenery etc. I've been a member of that forum and this one for many years and enjoy both! Eric AND
May 22, 201313 yr Awww... :( $30 is probably more then worth it if all the youtube clips are to go by. It was the first commercial add-on I purchased, and have never regretted it. Calclassic.com is the ONLY place to really get into propliners. very experienced folks in the forum area there, as well as a nice and wide selection of propliners, scenery etc. I've been a member of that forum and this one for many years and enjoy both! A brilliant site indeed, but you must take your blinkers off - there are propeller-driven airliners outside the USA! Here is a good site for British ones: http://www.cbfsim.co.uk/CBFS_HOME.php John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
May 22, 201313 yr Or try http://www.avsimrus.com/f/fs2004-aircrafts-40/il-14-40304.html Very slow (faster than a DC-3 anyway), but from a completely different planet. Nice to make long flights above endless woods and then to land at strange places. Have fun, Harald Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. V.
