Why no more livery previews!?

Featured Replies

Guys, away from humor i guess pmdg is tired of our conspiracy theories that each livery gives us a hint and so...

Or another reason that their plan was to show the top liveries the have, not all operators, who knows?

The risks for people being too overt with their facebook information are widely known - not just to specialists, but including those specialists.

Right, but being overt could be just as destructive here on the AVSIM forums as it would be there.  I'm just tired of the technophobic references people make about it.  If you're smart about how/what you post, you don't have to worry about it.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist.  Avoiding it entirely is a valid way to avoid making a dumb move.  I understand that.

I could simply never fly again to avoid crashing, or I could just be careful on my preflight inspections and make sure I'm equipped with all of the proper information prior to my flight.  John Madden doesn't fly because he sees it as too dangerous.  He's entitled to that opinion; just as I am the opinion that it's a little overcautious.

To be honest, I wasn't the one who brought up the avoiding Facebook discussion.  I merely responded to it, in a humorous tone (picture) nonetheless, but the reference must've gone missed.  In accordance with your request, though, I'll stop providing my opinion on the matter.

Kyle,

can we stop this, pls?

As stated above, no one intended to bash FB or FB users. This was supposed to be an easy topic and some weird connections have been drawn between livery previews and FB habits - that's all.

My logic behind no more previews:

People deficated bricks because there were no updates.

Livery updates released: Someone(s) decided to point out flaws in the model.

PMDG decided "Fine, no soup for you."

They've diverted all of their manpower and resources towards the DC6. The 777 has been put on the back-burner.  :He He:

LOL @ the "no FB bashing" ... sure don't attack FB users but FB itself is nothing but an invasive data miner.

You guys fight over the dumbest stuff.

Agreed. Although it does make for an interesting read while are work.

And for those of you (I'm sure there are some) who think "Get back to work and stop worrying about a "game" (<-sarcastic, whiny voice), FWIW this is my last day at this job. The boss left me here alone for the last hour and a half so I feel no guilt for browsing the forums. Not that anybody needed to know that haha. Boredom + job at a computer = ^ this.

Hard at work I am sure....but I wont start getting excited about it until the official pricing comes out...

They have put the 777 on the backburner to concentrate on the Woodpigeon...

For facebook: Don't give them any data. Sign up. put no photos on it. add no friends except PMDG (maybe Vatsim ;) ) never write comments. Then you will just be a name without a face that likes PMDG and that has an email account. Only ever log in from 1 computer.

The people that get stalked or whatever usually have heaps of pictures and 'friends'. If you have no pictures, and your only friend is PMDG, and you live in "Earth" street, "Solar System" in the city of "Milky Way" , country "The Universe", then it's not like people can find you.

Or even better: Don't have an account at all! just favourite the PMDG facebook page (which isn't private) so you can see stuff. https://www.facebook.com/pmdgsimulations

They are redoing the wing-flex modeling, to get it exactly right in the livery previews.

Damn, good luck with the interest xD

Although you could probably recoup that loss by offering forum members a go... At a price, of course :P
