what is the difference between x plane 777 and the one that pmdg has not released yet

I think its safe to say the PMDG version will be more extensively/completely modeled.

Cmon did you see the VC textures in the "other thread" with the 5k fpm climb? PMDG surely cant beat that!

Lets not turn this into a war over X-Plane vs PMDG, PMDG's 777 will be well worth it.

No 2D panel why? Unfortunitaly like a lot of other, I will not buy it and fly it without 2D panel.

Probably because they have moved on from the past!

We're in 2013 now, not 1998...

Yep.  Agree completely.  What's next, demands for a FS9 version...?

2d panels are gone and for good reason.

People:  you should get TrackIR.

Unfortunitaly like a lot of other,

Fortunately you're wrong. Your loss, not PMDG's. If they were losing appreciable sales, they'd include a 2d panel. They're not, so its not financially feasible to make one.

A lot other? Sadly for you 2d folks, there will be less and less 2d cockpits in future releases not ncluding PMDG who have now stopped 2d completely.

Learn to fly in the vc, you'll never go back. It just takes getting used to.

Btw there are people on the Fb page STILL begging for an fs9 version.

I know there's a lot of money in aviation because I put it there.

OK, lets not turn this into a 2D vs 3D war again.

We all know that those that want 2D is because or they can run on 3D or they have a home made cockpit of sort.

PMDG took the decision to not make anymore a full 2D panel.

Let's move on!!

What's the progress ever since the Jun 24th update? Wish we would see something closer for release after all these updates but it seems like its just little bits here and there followed by long moments of silence. Rinse and repeat. Wish they would release these updates following up briefly with a release instead of slowly leaking information and not saying anything for awhile. It's like getting us worked up only to be followed by disappointment again.

I would like to have a developer's blog for the PMDG T7.  What harm could there have been...?

Delaying the product for another 3 months in total  :P Just imagine that everyone would have to deal with not just development but also writing. But then again, I don't know what's worse, having 777 sooner with them torturing us or knowing briefly what's going on and wait for the product longer. If I was them I certainly wouldn't be too much into writing though.

What I find distracting is the fact that they make it seem as the release is so near, but then we don't hear anything for god knows how long. It's just this cycle is getting a bit repetitive. I rather much have them release updates, teaser, videos, images when they are about to release the actual product.
