July 23, 201312 yr I forgot to reply to your statements Jeroen, Nick does not have a grudge against Avsim's simmers, what he has a problem with peoples making statements without backing them up with facts or proof, or challenging him without being able to showi him where he's wrong, I would have a problem with that too, that is why he quit writing here. Could well be, point taken, although Nick also doesn't show facts and proofs to his statements in his bible, in which we should just believe... ^_^ But I think it's better to stop this talk about NickN here (before people think I really have a grudge against him ^_^ ). Not because we are talking behind his back, which we aren't because I know for a fact he visits this forum and reads things, but because, as you said, he doesn't post here anymore and it just doesn't feel right to talk about a helpful fellow simmer without him being able or willing to react directly. In that regard I think I already said too much about NickN, for which I apologize (to everyone here and NickN specially).
July 23, 201312 yr ... that is why he quit writing here. If that's what you want to believe, go ahead and believe it.
July 23, 201312 yr If that's what you want to believe, go ahead and believe it. Seriously...I should have edited my post and said that it was one of the reason. Anyway, this is about Orbx and simmers (you) can always ask at simforum why he is not writing here anymore.
July 23, 201312 yr Ya know guys, There seems to be some very strange undercurrents going on in here with flows coming from some unexpected directions. Alaine, Direct Question: Your statements seem a wee bit veiled and obscure, with unspecified hinted at points of reference. This seems a wee bit weird coming from you Alaine. Subtlety has, up to now, not seemed to be one of your strong points. Anything you want to share a little more directly? Don't be offended please, just asking... Your friendly neighborhood nosy neighbor.
July 23, 201312 yr I just use Prepar3D.... With soon to be FTX Global. By the way, Jim, you guys take your time getting it right. You'll have lots of happy customers. As for the Word Not Allowed vs NickN debate, they both have made significant contributions. I use more of Word Not Allowed's tweaks, but that's just me. As to what scenery is the best, I think it's whatever makes you happy. I'm just glad we have choices. Life is good. With all do respect to Nick an what you are saying . But he has a big issue with a lot of developer i was reading the link you posted , that he talk about how developer are an what are IGNORANT DEVELOPERS. He didn't called out any names but when he said addon manager an "who alters your FSX.cfg file without your knowledge" i don't know if am right but that is calling Fsdreamteam an Ignorant Developer . He didn't say the name but everyone knows who he is referring to. I see now why many developers don't work together with Nick . I mean if you see someone doing something wrong that might affect us simmers in some way you should approach them in respectable manner. Not calling them Ignorant developer an crap etc... I respect what he have done for the flight sim community but with that attitude he will not have many friends or people wanted to work with him . Hey! old fa...friend, I am in no way offended but please drop the e at the end of my name...sound to girly when pronounce in French...lol, just to clarify things, I am not in any ways talking for Nick, hoping this will shed some light on what was obscure...
July 25, 201312 yr Now in closed beta release: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/61647-ftx-global-on-short-finals/
July 25, 201312 yr Happy to see it will work with UTX. I only use it for the lovely night lighting. Gil Hidalgo
July 25, 201312 yr Happy to see it will work with UTX. I only use it for the lovely night lighting. In case you use UTX only for night lighting: FTXG will also have night lighting and I've been told it performs better then UTX.
July 25, 201312 yr Available Saturday, July 27th as an online download from their store: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/61737-ftx-global-we-nailed-it-the-new-3d-lights-system/ BTW, you can get FTX Global as a set of disks as a backup to your installation, but they will not be selling a retail online boxed set. Let's hope that their servers are up to the task of handling the load. Next up (no timetable as of yet), the regional OpenLC land class products. I'm also personally waiting for FTX Coastal New England.
July 25, 201312 yr Next up (no timetable as of yet), the regional OpenLC land class products. I'm also personally waiting for FTX Coastal New England. According to their 2013 roadmap, they will release Ireland and Northern California first then Norway South in 2014. No news about New England. Büke Yolaçan
July 25, 201312 yr Commercial Member I hope they will indeed get it out for saturday, can't wait to do some flying in areas that were previously too ugly to fly in.
July 25, 201312 yr I hope they will indeed get it out for saturday, can't wait to do some flying in areas that were previously too ugly to fly in. Yeah I took a break until FTX Global is out. Büke Yolaçan
July 25, 201312 yr I hope they will indeed get it out for saturday, can't wait to do some flying in areas that were previously too ugly to fly in. Unfortunately the areas I fly in that are real ugly, will still be real ugly will FTX Global. The only solution will be a full FTX regional scenery for these areas, but I will probably not even be using FSX by the time that happens! Mike Mann
