FTX Global delayed to next week

Featured Replies

I am really looking forward to this release, this will be a nice sprucing up for the world using the softer Orbx textures and autogen that I like so much in their dedicated FTX areas.  GEX is a good product, but something about their particular graphical style does not appeal to me, I have always liked the Orbx visual touch and autogen.

This plus Scenery tech LC, UTX, REX clouds and Opus weather/camera will complete my baseline flight-sim.

According to their 2013 roadmap, they will release Ireland and Northern California first then Norway South in 2014. No news about New England.

Sorry, I was just referring to anything related to FTX Global.

modifying or repurposing any of Orbx's textures

Hi John,

Love your work and really looking forward to this next release, you guys rock!

But not to drag you down, yet haven't all of us including yourself done that with the MS stuff and their EULA in some kind of way?

I'm just saying, if he is not sharing it, I don't get the heavy leaning.

If I'm way off, go ahead hit me I can take it, but come on, where did SCASM come from and all the tools?

In the begining we all broke MS EULA as we broke each version of FS down and Mother looked the other way.

If this created that much hype I can't image it when PMDG 777 is out.

I do hope that some of you who are now using GEX, and are planning to buy FTX Global, have been planning comparison screenshots at similar locations and settings.

I have taken before shots, with areas I know using GEX, then I will be taking after shots with FTX global.

I will include my opinion, either way it goes. I expect none to be spot on, but one has to come closer. As it stands, GEX and the Golden Isles, where I live are two different worlds.

Unfortunately the areas I fly in that are real ugly, will still be real ugly will FTX Global. The only solution will be a full FTX regional scenery for these areas, but I will probably not even be using FSX by the time that happens!

When it gets released I will definitely make a couple of comparison shots from all my favourite locations.
