September 2, 201312 yr I will probably go with the RealAir version, if only because it can be installed in FSX and Prepar3D. September 2, 201312 yr Commercial Member A2A can be also installed in FSX and Prepar3D. It comes with a hybrid installer. Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.
September 2, 201312 yr Well, I already bought the A2A version, and I expect it will be a "hum-dinger". I'll be installing it later tonight. Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
September 2, 201312 yr if only because it can be installed in FSX and Prepar3D. Incorrect, RealAir does not support P3D, yet. The Legacy only works in P3D with the special legacy mode from Estonia tool. Many qualified C172 flyers will judge both. I personally prefer A2A. September 3, 201312 yr You are correct - I was thinking MilViz. September 3, 201312 yr Only going to go with one of them, but don't know which. The Real Air 172 is very much still in play for me. I broke the habit of buying things soon after release, preferring instead to monitor the tech threads, wade through the initial enthusiasm of a new release to determine what the real story is, and just overall make sure that I'm not being hasty. Right now, no doors are closed, and I'm going to wait until I see what R.A. puts on the table.

Good Point King. Also by waiting a reasonable period, if there are any initial bugs, they can be fixed before I purchase. This tends to be less frustrating that day one purchases.
September 3, 201312 yr Hopefully now that the A2A release is out and we know it represents the R/S models, Rob and Sean will consider doing a different model of the 172, such as an older 70s model. Even better, an old Continental powered straight tail 172 from the 50s would be awesome! Having a RealAir 172 be a different generation from that of the A2A model would make it much easier to justify getting both. September 3, 201312 yr Real Air really have to come up with something good if they gonna make me buy it. I think this A2A release is gonna be hard to beat  Best slow GA addon I have ever bought B)

September 4, 201312 yr As I'm daydreaming, it appears like the best 172 would be formed by grafting A2A's famous engine modelling onto Real Air's wonderful flight models and avionics. If we lived in an alternate universe, we would see this kind of collaboration.
September 4, 201312 yr Realair posted a news update on their site today. http://www.realairsimulations.com/home.php?page=home http://www.realairsimulations.com/list_box.php?page=coming Good news for B60 Duke pilots, not so good for the C172 pilots. Pitch + Power = Performance

Well, I suppose a lot of people who we're planning to wait for the RealAir version will get the A2A version now anyway...!
September 4, 201312 yr Good news for B60 Duke pilots, not so good for the C172 pilots. As for the Duke Yes, good news. But from what it says on their "Comming Soon" it seems their C172 is not even close to release and won't be P3D compatible. :( Well, I suppose a lot of people who we're planning to wait for the RealAir version will get the A2A version now anyway...! Edit: That might be true, if they quickly fix the bugs people are reporting on the A2A C172 initial release. Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.
September 4, 201312 yr As for the Duke Yes, good news. It will be if they release a paintkit, the lack of a proper paintkit for the B60 has meant that while I prefer it over the turbine, there just isn't enough choice for me to fly it often (although the annoying clickspots was always a major issue as well). The low-res unofficial paintkit that's out there (and hard to find, because it's no longer present on the site it was released on), helps with a couple, but it really has limited what repainters could/would do.
