Thank You.

Whether the price is just or not is up to each themselves. As I said, for me it's too much.

I'm with Ryan; if it goes on sale for 60~70 USD I'll strongly consider it.

I'm happy with the NGX, Q400 and the A320 Extended for now. For long hauls (time permitting..... and that's a rare thing...) I have the MD-11 in my hangar.

And for those who did/do accept the 90 dollar pricetag: Congrats! Enjoy it and share your experiences with us!

Regards,

I´ll not buy it right now, not this year. PMDG can charge what they want, there are no competition, is like Intel and AMD.

7800X3D / 7900XTX / ROG STRIX B650-A / Corsair Vengeance 32GB 6000mhz, etc etc.

I agree that $90 is a lot of money. I'll be buying the A2A C172 first, and then the 777 perhaps sometime later... or never. I'm undecided yet. But right now, I just can't cough up the money. To all that bought it already, have fun!

Since I'm a big fan of the Majestic Q400, I'd like to drop in some comparison values. The Pilot Edition sold for 50 Euros, that's ~66 USD. Now the folks already running her might be interested in the (upcoming) Pro Edition which would be at 75 Euros or ~99 USD. To upgrade, one would just have to pay the difference of course.

Now that's about as pricey as top notch addons (and I would consider the Q400 to be one) can get. This, for me, puts the 90 USD on the PMDG 777 in perspective although she doesn't support e.g. shared cockpit like the Pro Ed. of the Q400 would.

I can't say that I'm happy about close to 100 bucks for 'just' some addon planes and I think we saw equally detailed ones like the Maddog being sold at lower values. But I think that the market currently seems accept triple (or close to) USD values and, therefore, products are getting sold that high. I actually have to blame myself for that.

Okay, I guess I am just to used to 2D. I am just not able to enjoy the sim in virtual cockpit, Is there a trick to this or just something that takes getting used to?

Shoot me, but I think it's worth every penny, and I think the price is perfectly reasonable.

I do not have a lot of money; I am a full time, mature student, with a home, an expensive wife, and 3 kids.....   buying the 777 at $89.95 (which was £57 to me) was a case of choice.    I had to choose what other leisure activities I would forego, in order to but the 777.     I go out once per month with friends for a meal and beers on a Saturday afternoon so I have give that up for one month, and I also 'pay as I go' at a local gym and I have given that up too for one month (telling myself I'll go running close to home instead!)..... those two things pay for the PMDG 777 for me, and I'm happy to give them up for just 1 month, to have this bird that I will now enjoy for at least 3 years.

To me, that's a bargain.  The truth is, there will be some who truly cannot afford the 777 under any circumstances, but there will be many others who have more choices that they are maybe letting on ..... (eg.... "Grrr... I wanted GTA V and this!!"  ,  or "Grrr.... but I just bought the A2A C172!").

These are jut my views and I mean offence.     But seriously, look at the complexity and feature list of this 777;   it is worth so much more than a couple of nights on the beer IMHO.

We all knew before release that the T7 would be priced at a minimum of 80 USD. So this discussion is not about 90 USD, but about an additional 10 USD.

And, frankly speaking, the PMDG pricing is even less than a 1st world problem: If there were a price tag on water, or on oxygen, I would agree. But this is "just" the umpteenth addon airplane for a 2006 base sim.

Nobody needs it; nobody is forced to buy it. It's all at PMDG's discretion - and, IMO, they made a reasonable decision.

What happened to AVSIM

Plain and simple, it's the old supply and demand. High end airliners are rare so they can price it higher.

It's similar to the Concorde X; price never drops cause they have that market cornered and locked.

People, of course I'm just speaking for myself, but reading back most comments (including my own) about the price of the T777, I don't think most people are implying that $90 is too much for what you get. People are saying that the price is probably right, but that $90 is simply a lot of cash, regardless of the product you're being, full stop. For something that is just a luxury commodity, $90 is a big number. Ergo, no reason to defend the price of the T777! It's a question of wanting to spend $90 on a FSX addon or not, and that's highly personal.

I know one thing. I would buy many more of theses addons, regardless of price if I knew I could sell them IF I got hard up for cash. But currently, thats not possible.

Is anyone experiencing any texture load issues when switching from VC to the spot view? Half of the T7 is being totally black for me for a good 2-3 seconds before textures fully load.
