Are you a member of the development team? Do you know what the development costs were? Do you have it to make such a claim? can you do better?

Considering the big difference in price from their other addon, I would guess there is a reason for them to feel this price needs to be set where it is whether you guys agree or not. Hope it does well for them.

I'm sure that RSR feels that the 777 should be worth $1,000, but he's a business man and knows that it wouldn't sell at that price...so he set the price high enough that it would give PMDG a good roi, yet low enough that average people could purchase it.  It is more expensive than every other addon aircraft out there (except Ariane,) but its systems depth, realism, and immersion allow it to be that expensive...and it sold (is selling) like hotcakes.

The most likely reason that Wing Creations felt it should be that expensive is because THEY feel that it is worth it.  From the screenshots, RJAA looks like a good scenery addon, but what sets it apart from FSDT KLAX, Flightbeams KIAD, FlyTampa's OMDB, or Aerosofts (Simwings) PANC?  Does it have some form of ground breaking technology that gives them reason to charge $12 more than FlyTampa does for the entire city of Dubai?  I'm sure that they feel that they can charge more than they did for Fukushima is because Tokyo is a much more popular destination....hence more traffic...hence more buyers.  I don't know what development costs are associated with developing sceneries, but I do know what they are concerning advanced aircraft addons since I was actively involved in the development of the iFly 737 project, and they depend greatly on whether you have a full time team doing all of the work, or if you're a couple of guys that do things on your down time.  I'm pretty sure that Wing Creations falls into the latter category, and are, perhaps, trying to use RJAA (and its price) to make enough income to be able to develop sceneries full time.

Well, I need a good RJAA as I fly for Delta virtual and this place is their main Asian hub. I don't like the price but it is what it is so come Thursday morning I am buying it. Plan on flying out of KATL into RJAA with my PMDG 777 WITH a 0600z arrival in Friday morning. If anyone wants to know how it looks, I can post back here then. By the way someone mentioned Pacific Island Simulations and their Chubu Centrair. What city does this airport serve? Is this an international airport? Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 4

You don't NEED this scenery.  You NEED water.  You NEED food.  I am also a member of DVA, but I don't even have a payware KATL!  Besides, Ray Smith has an excellent AFCAD for RJAA right here in the library for the amazing price of free.  I'm interested to see if you get an oom error with it though...

Edit:  Just found a Youtube video that shows the airport.  I certainly hope that the fps are better in game than what are shown in this video or Wing Creations is going to have a very tough go at it.

After telling me what I need and don't need and then saying you would be interested in feedback on whether I get a OOM or not? I assure you that you will never know.

You should stop wearing your feelings on your shoulder too.

I was looking forward to the RJAA ...but I am taking a detour...to Mexico city MMMX for FSX...here I come!

This looks awesome...an entire city and airport in such detail...and good FPS from the many comments. Imagine Tokypo city and Haneda in one scenery package...  Its begging to be sold.

This is what I call value for money. For 30 quids you get an entire city ...like FT Kai Tak or Dubai or the other one of Rio... This is what is needed.. for the price of a single Orbx airport you get this

Its time FSDT also starts expanding the size of their scenery to include adjacent city and what not.. :P

MMMX is beautiful, I bought it 2 days ago.

I just got bad FPS on Youtube..................  :O

Cheers Josh Cliff

It's now number 8 in the sim market best sellers of the week, so somebody is buying it. :P

I think Dave "Dexter" Romford secretly ordered 20 copies of it to bump up the numbers

It could have been number 1 considering so many have been thirsty for RJAA   :P

at #4 is Taxi2Gate Mexico City MMMX

and at #5 is DD's Manhattan

And these two have been out for so long now.

  1. 3DTAXI2GATE - MMMX MEXICO CITY XTREME FSX
  2. DRZEWIECKI DESIGN - NEW YORK CITY X FSX P

Yeah, no doubt a more reasonable price and it would be up there!

OT: i wonder why AS2012 is tops this week? Usually it's FSUIPC if there's been no big release!

The Mexico City and New York have been selling since a while back. But the RJAA is fresh.

Exactly!

Because AS2012 just added PMDG wind export maybe? Anyway it's a superb product still going strong 2 years after release.

I surprise that Overland stop developing for FSX and P3D after they made the great RKSI. I enjoyed all their sceneries for FS9, they were all fantastic and reasonably priced. I'm a scenery junkie for flight Sim, but I'll also pass on this one. The price is a bit over the top.
