Pacific Island Simulations is based in the United States while Wing Creations is a Japanese development company.

That's their own problem (of Wing Creations).

I'm not defending the price, and agree it's really excessive..... but to be fair the exchange rates and cost of living in Japan come into the equation.

The cost of developing the scenery is a sunk cost. It is completely irrelevant to answering the question "what price will net the developer the greatest return on that investment"? The price that gets them the highest return is also, by definition, the one that will help them recoup their development costs most effectively.

Maybe that price works for the Japanese market but if they're expecting to get any non-Japanese business at that price point I think they're likely to be very disappointed.

I doubt "development costs" would be very high for such a mediocre scenery.

I wonder if anyone here has purchased it yet?  Be nice to get a quick review and or screens.  Maybe they'll be kind for Oshogatsu or New Year's Day and have a little sale.  Prolly not

Well, I need a good RJAA as I fly for Delta virtual and this place is their main Asian hub. I don't like the price but it is what it is so come Thursday morning I am buying it. Plan on flying out of KATL into RJAA with my PMDG 777 WITH a 0600z arrival in Friday morning. If anyone wants to know how it looks, I can post back here then.

By the way someone mentioned Pacific Island Simulations and their Chubu Centrair. What city does this airport serve? Is this an international airport?

Looking forward to some shots of RJAA Eric.  Chubu is just outside of Nagoya.  I've flown on Delta from Detroit to Chubu before and I know United flies there from Guam.  I also remember seeing Etihad and Lufthansa birds there as well, not to mention a decent sized cargo hub for freighters.

Are you a member of the development team? Do you know what the development costs were? Do you have it to make such a claim? can you do better?

Considering the big difference in price from their other addon, I would guess there is a reason for them to feel this price needs to be set where it is whether you guys agree or not. Hope it does well for them.

I was looking forward to the RJAA ...but I am taking a detour...to Mexico city MMMX for FSX...here I come!

This looks awesome...an entire city and airport in such detail...and good FPS from the many comments. Imagine Tokypo city and Haneda in one scenery package...  Its begging to be sold.

This is what I call value for money. For 30 quids you get an entire city ...like FT Kai Tak or Dubai or the other one of Rio... This is what is needed.. for the price of a single Orbx airport you get this

Its time FSDT also starts expanding the size of their scenery to include adjacent city and what not.. :P

Wasn't iFly an Japanese company as well? (Or Possibly Chinese) Pretty sure the development cost on the NG was pretty high as well and that's still a $1 cheaper then RJAA.

No Thanks

The Aerosim Kansai is fifty bucks and look at the quality. At least this RJAA has a better quality and who knows when or who will do another Japanese airports which European and American vendors have been neglecting.

I got this RJAA and i love it and it's been a while since the last group that actually did one... which is overland and this is on an FS9 platform. Almost 10 years waiting.... for what 45 bucks, that just 3 days of gas on my SUV and i will not drive for 3 days to make up for it.

Now i can fly a nice add-ons KLAX (FSDT) to RJAA (Wing Creation) on a PMDG B777.

Man, i love this hobby !!!!

i find it really hard to complain about price when a lot of developers are not professional and the market itself is not very lucrative. even if things are a bit more expensive, doesn't hurt to support the people making it if it is something that you want and can afford.

No, this is not an argument.

Why?

Well, Pacific Island Simulations and their Chubu Centrair is the answer.

Except PIS are based in US not Japan

Chinese.

High price would indicate they will not maximise their return on investment, lower price can increase revenue, just ask Valve!!
