October 2, 201312 yr OMG! I just watched the video for this. Its Amazing! And its only $20 (US without VAT = Eur 16.8). I already have the Aerosofts Budapest...so I did not get this..but for $20 I am going to upgrade this weekend LHS - BUDAPEST LISZT FERENC LHBP FSX http://secure.simmarket.com/lhs-budapest-liszt-ferenc-lhbp-fsx.phtml Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 2, 201312 yr People aren't buying the addons they used to since the world economy has still been slow for years now. I don't see a problem with rising prices as long as the quality is also good. And they wont sell as many as developers of western airports... besides, I just paid almost $100 for the PMDG 777

October 3, 201312 yr Are you a member of the development team? Do you know what the development costs were? Do you have it to make such a claim? can you do better?
October 3, 201312 yr At least the booze there is cheap! Excuse me? Y500 (about GBP3.50) for just over half a pint of lager at most Japanese boozers, and Y1,000 for a pint of beer at most British / Irish pubs. That's right, 3 pints will set you back nearly 20 quid. On the plus side the Japanese are finally gaining a real taste for wine, which means even local 7/11s have survivable reds for under Y1,000. If anyone else has any queries regarding Japan's alcohol situation, just let me know. i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
October 3, 201312 yr If anyone else has any queries regarding Japan's alcohol situation, just let me know. I buy mine on base. It's waaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper  Chris Sunseri
October 4, 201312 yr Anyone bought this scenery and experience an OOM? I just did one with OPUSfsx running (Delta PMDG777) and it was overcast with bunch of cloud layers last night at Narita. On final with gear down, the VAS counter went over the 4.000 and textures start looking weird below the scenery area. I went ahead and exit before I get that OOM message. Did a departure (RJAA to KLAX this time) with complete from cold cockpit to take off with OPUSfsx disable and my VAS was only 3.100 during my wheels up departure. Kin M. (Klax)

(Klax) Happened with the initial release of DD's New York, as well: N.Y. was nearly unflyable without the following 'OOM patches'. Maybe this developer will release performance patches, too, on users' requests. What happened to AVSIM
October 4, 201312 yr The price for this scenery is way to expensive, so I really hope they will turn it down a little bit. I want a RJAA scenery real bad. I surprise that Overland stop developing for FSX and P3D after they made the great RKSI. I enjoyed all their sceneries for FS9, they were all fantastic and reasonably priced. I'm a scenery junkie for flight Sim, but I'll also pass on this one. The price is a bit over the top. I really miss their Japan Airport sceneries, It was nice having the whole country covered. They haven't stopped developing, but moving extremely slow. They are working on Haneda RJTT Check out their facebook profile.https://www.facebook.com/overlandjapan
October 4, 201312 yr Immediately off base is expensive as hell.. ¥600 is expensive for a bottle of beer. -Damien Damien Furtman Hovering Hellion
October 4, 201312 yr I agree Japan is an expensive country to live in or for visitors, however, I feel that as they are directing the product to the world (ie people not in Japan), sure you need to consider your developers, but shouldn't you also consider your customers as well? Or work out a price which is "fair" between both worlds. Only few hundred miles between China and Japan, the pricing of products is so vastly different. How do you expect the Chinese would ever be able to afford it? This leads to another problem; encouraging piracy. To put it another way, there is one developer (no names) that sells their products at two different price. If you purchase outside of the country (ie not using the country's credit card/credit system), it's one price. If you purchase inside the country, it's another price. Thus makes it fairer to both worlds. Brendan Chen Learning to use and getting use to FSX!
October 4, 201312 yr How do you expect the Chinese would ever be able to afford it? This leads to another problem; encouraging piracy. This is capitalism, something is not "automatically" affordable for everyone (actually that's a life statement) -- it's not communism or socialism, it's a global free market. The argument to be pirate (aka be a thief) because you can't afford something is hardly legitimate ... especially when we're talking entertainment software?? If the Chinese want to (and this is by no means a given) be able to afford XYZ, then they'll need to implement serious change in their political system and embrace the good AND the bad that goes along with Capitalism and democracy. I can't afford a Lear Jet at $15M, I'm not going to steal one just because I think $15M is too much -- I don't have a clue on how much in materials and workmanship went into making a Lear Jet so I couldn't possibly define a "value" for it. If one can't afford to or doesn't want to pay that price, then don't buy it and don't steal it. I really never understood the countless debates people seem have about "cost of product XYZ" without understanding how many hours and how much money was invested in making the product ... it boggles my mind to keep reading threads like this. Seriously? Can anyone who complained about the price provide a detailed account of exactly how many hours of development time and money went into this product? If not, then how do you know what the "value" of the product should be? One's personal financial state doesn't dictate a vendors product pricing ... people also don't have any say in what is deemed a "fair" profit for those that worked hard to produce the product. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I see this everyday ... a generation of people (in most cases younger, but not always) that seem to think they are "entitled" to something they can't afford. Life owes you nothing, life is what you make out of it ... if your road in life is one that doesn't provide the things you need/want, then you need to select a different road or be happy with your choice. Some life choice don't pay well, some life choices may take 10-20 years before they start paying well -- that's life and it's your choice. Sorry for the rant, but this piracy justification because someone can't "afford XYZ" is one of the few things in life that really bothers me (as you can see it clearly sets me off) ... maybe because I grew up in a very poor family going back to WWII England (my folks had German bombs landing on their houses, lining up to get the basics like food and water). We have always worked VERY hard to get the things we want/need in life -- and I do mean VERY hard (the road has never been easy). I've worked 34 years to be able to afford some of the luxury items I have ... at no point did I ever think I could decide the cost of those luxury items. Rob
October 4, 201312 yr How do you expect the Chinese would ever be able to afford it? This leads to another problem; encouraging piracy. What encourages and promotes piracy is not being raised to know that stealing is wrong, no matter the perceived justification and living in a country that does not care about IP theft or copyr4ight violation, not over priced products. Best, Michael KDFW
October 4, 201312 yr That's their own problem (of Wing Creations). Well it's hardly a 'problem' is it.... We're talking about reasoning for a higher retail price. We're talking about an explanation, not an excuse or a problem. Quite funny how some people are outraged and demand it be lower in price. It's that free market that you capitalists love you see ... They can charge what they want. Perhaps the scenery is good value in the Japanese market, and perhaps that's as far as they want to attract. If you are Japanese and sell to international markets, you have to provide international support and the Japanese aren't the world's greatest multi-linguals  (In case anyone get's outraged by that, I used to work for a Nissan supplier and have visited Japan on 8 occasions. I adore the place, and the people, but I'd still say they're generally not the best at interfacing with the rest of the world).
