October 9, 201312 yr http://www.prepar3d.com/product-overview/prepar3d-license-comparison/ Read the chart at the bottom of the site and smile... Someone who wants to play games uses neither FS9 nor FSX or P3D. Keep beloved FS9 for airliners/airports/scenery etc but P3D running ORBX' PNW and related airports plus the A2A aircraft That's right, but in my case I would whish to have P3D onto a standard of my FS2004 installation immediately  Harald Geyer Gründer der Messerschmitt Freunde Dresden v. October 9, 201312 yr Thanks to AirDailyX I see Lockheed Martin has released some preliminary data on Version 2 of Prepar3D. To summarise DX11 is supported and finally modern graphics, and cards, are supported as are multithreads/cores. http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2013/10/4507/ I guess this is what us FS9's have been really waiting for. Check it out. This was what I was waiting for for, for sure. If V2 proves to be all that it's being sold as it will replace FSX especially if the EULA get's amended. It looks like they've cracked most of the bugs out of FSX and P3D is now on it's way. Aerosoft is defiantly taking a serious look at it for all future development. If I can buy a new decent computer and run P3D V2 with a good experience I'll bypass FSX. I would imagine most things outside of PMDG's products should run on it just like the current version. For me I'd rather not have to tweak and have a sim that takes advantage of newer hardware features versus dismissing it because certain products don't run on it (and I'm an airliner simmer). There's enough content that will run on P3D V2 to fully enjoy it especially if Aerosoft is on board. October 9, 201312 yr Assuming PMDG will not move over to P3D. this is going to be my strategy 1) Keep FSX just for PMDG Airliner (777, 747V2, 737NGX) and configure FSX just for airliner flying (above 30,000 feet). a) Remove/uninstall Orbx, and all small airport addons.... b.) Keep all the major Mega airports (FSDT, Fly Tampa and few others) c) Keep FS Altitude and get whatever FS Altitude for the whole of US and EU and whatever else they come up with d) Remove Megascenery (not 100% sure on this) Keep REX and UI AI, Basically unload as much as possible except for what is required for airliner flying and make FSX lite and sharp for PMDG 2) P3D V2 for all other aircrafts GA and other airliners (CS 727, Airbus all GA) Keep, moveover, purchase and install all addon scenery and make P3D v2 my primary Sim 3) XPlane? Perish the thought! Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
October 9, 201312 yr I was going to purchase the PMDG 777 until I found out it cant be installed in V1.4 or any future versions of P3D. Which forced me to take a pass on probably a great add-on. I wish these developers would reconsider their positions. If not then FTX and other developers that do support P3D at no added charge is in my future purchases. October 9, 201312 yr I guess this is what us FS9's have been really waiting for. Check it out. Only thing I am waiting for is for AES to enable choice of trucks and support for cargo aircraft. B) My FS Videos
October 9, 201312 yr That's right, but in my case I would whish to have P3D onto a standard of my FS2004 installation immediately  Just take your time and try to get the highest quality scenery/add ons one at a time. You can still enjoy it with default scenery because of the much sharper textures, lighting effects, water, etc. My FSX installation is very basic GEX, REX, UTX, PMDG NGX and I enjoy it a lot, especially in DX10. I have a lot more stuff for FS9 but I can enjoy both sims equally. Even if I get P3D, I will still keep flying FSX because there is no PMDG support for P3D. I think being able to fly on 3 sims is a great thing and I look forward to it. Nature Boy
October 9, 201312 yr Moderator Does anyone besides me see the irony here? For decades many (dare I say most?) people were beside themselves with frustration because outsiders considered our flightsim activities as a "GAME..."...and countered that assertion loudly with the counter-claim that it (flightsim) was a "SIMULATOR!"Now here we are, some twenty-six years later faced with a platform that is without any question whatsoever a recognized, genuine "SIMULATOR..."...and some (thankfully few) are convinced that they aren't legally qualified to purchase it because it is a "SIMULATOR" and not a "GAME..." :Hypnotized: Fr. October 9, 201312 yr Author is for AES to enable choice of trucks and support for cargo aircraft. I agree ... and haven't we been waiting a long time.
October 9, 201312 yr and some (thankfully few) are convinced that they aren't legally qualified to purchase it And some know they are not developers, pilots in training, or students AND they can read and UNDERSTAND an EULA.
October 9, 201312 yr "Thanks, " for what, JSkorna? Reading your posts? The powers that be have all spoken, and for all practical purposes, the debate is over.
October 9, 201312 yr For leaving me alone. And there is no debate, just an EULA, though some would want to make you believe otherwise.
October 9, 201312 yr Moderator http://forum.avsim.net/topic/422890-lockheed-eula-discussions/ Any more discussion of the Lockheed P3D EULA here are banned. We have had it. If you have questions about the EULA, want more clarity, or want to arm chair lawyer jawbone it, the take it to the LOCKHEED P3D forums. They have answered the question a thousand times. If you are having angst about it, go ask them directly. Do not do it here. Messages posted about the EULA will be immediately deleted AND the poster will be suspended. Do not go there again. Fr.
