November 27, 201312 yr Mitch, what card and VRAM do you have? This is what he replied yesterday in the other thread Post Edit: My Vram usage is around 870-900 MB of a 2 GB GTX 680 pool. Whoops! Sorry, only on mobile at the moment and don think you can check profiles for system details on mobile? Anyway, thanks for the info. Between what you and Devon have said that's helped me make a decision to buy now and just use frame-friendly default planes like the Stinson until I get a better card. Will get this when I get home from work! i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
November 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member I don't buy stuff that's not cross platform, as I'm on Linux. Sorry Edited November 30, 201312 yr by CyberMike
November 28, 201312 yr Oh wow, oh wow, oh wow. It's reallllllly good. Yes, with my 1.5GB gtx580 I can't use everything (crepuscular rays are out for the time being but they look amazing), and I'll probably keep using randomly generated weather until spring rolls around or seasonal textures are introduced so won't be testing it with heavy overcast layers, but in terms of visual plausibility and sheer prettiness.....wow. From the silver lining around the clouds to being able to fly through them plausibly to the finally fixed horizon haze to the clouds moving across the fov when on the runway. It's so much more than just 'some clouds'. I imagine this is how Jcomm feels when he gets a plane with a particularly accurate physics model:) Verrrrry happy customer! (And of course the feeling is doubled by Andras' mesh. What a great week for XPlane!) i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
November 28, 201312 yr Commercial Member I don't buy from xaviation (banned) and use Linux. Hence no sale, but I find it expensive anyway only for some clouds... I am sorry, but what on earth is the purpose of this post. Good grief. REX AccuSeason Developer REX Simulations
November 28, 201312 yr Scotchegg is happy? BAM! Just messing I am glad you like it Awesome shot BTW..... I don't buy from xaviation (banned) and use Linux. Hence no sale, but I find it expensive anyway only for some clouds... Scrat? What are you doing around here?
November 28, 201312 yr Scotchegg is happy? BAM! Ha ha, no you're quite right, I am a picky sod. The flip-side being that when I do find something I like I tend to like it a lot B) i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea

For SkyMAXX Gizmo64 is used for activation and license management. That's not all Gizmo64 can be used for though. Gizmo is the script engine underneath the entire systems simulation for the LES Saab 340A, IXEG 737 and several other products. Thanks Ben for the info. Now I know why it is in the folder....
November 28, 201312 yr It took me a while to get the proper mix of performance/Eye Candy but that's the Great thing about this Amazing add-on,It's Very User friendly with many, many options for different systems....I'm a Happy Camper  100%75%50%d8a34be0e82d98b5a45ff4336cd0dddc Patrick
November 28, 201312 yr I just picked up SkyMaxx and looks good, but is it a requirement to install the NOAA plugin? One of my flights had the top layers all flat.
November 28, 201312 yr I just picked up SkyMaxx and looks good, but is it a requirement to install the NOAA plugin? One of my flights had the top layers all flat. No. But the METAR weather report simply doesn't go very high. That's where NOAA weather forecast comes into play. Karsten Schubert
November 28, 201312 yr I just picked up SkyMaxx and looks good, but is it a requirement to install the NOAA plugin? One of my flights had the top layers all flat. Check your SkyMAXXX settings. It sounds like your overcast settings are on Low, which is a flat, 2d layer. Medium makes them puffy and high is graphical voodoo that makes them look awesome so long as you have the computing horsepower to run it. November 28, 201312 yr Author No. But the METAR weather report simply doesn't go very high. That's where NOAA weather forecast comes into play Do you have the link for that? Does anybody know (John?), no that we have the SkyMaxx Pro cloud engine, what exactly is the relationship and/or further significance to the original Cloud Puff slider inside XPX? I have it now at 75 percent. Does this slider do anything anymore, does it affect the MASTER output of the settings within the SkyMaxx Pro Settings Menu? BTW, flying around Halifax, Canada under the XPX real weather download, and what a blast with the clouds today. Looks awesome.....but I have to leave off 'God Rays' for the most part...for this is the first item that can in moderate clouds bring me down to about half of my FPS without them on, and even at a setting on the slider for it, around 20-25 percent. No biggie though....for I bought this for a believable sky, and in that...I have.
