best flight planning software?

Featured Replies

I need a flight planning software badly, I have heard talk about pfpx and the ad's on here,

Is it really the best?

Yes. PFPX is the best in terms of functionality and features. Nothing else comes close.

Evan,

For what type of flying?  What are your preferences or requirements in a flight planner?  For example, do you want the planner to automatically generate a route for you, or do you want to manually select the route, or both?  Is vertical navigation important?

PFPX is most certainly the best, especially if you fly heavies. Nothing else comes close, imo.

Took me a couple of days to figure it out, I'll give ya that. But afterwards.. Became my most used purchase of 2013!

Well (call me biased), but I must agree with the above, use it all the time and have never looked back. A key thing to point out is the question above, do you want a GA or tubeliner planner? For tubes, PFPX is the best out there.

Pfpx is great product but I agree that Simbrief does the job too and is free.

In fact I sometimes prefer the latter's simplicity and uncluttered interface.

Hi Everyone,

May i ask, where can i purchase the PFPX from?

Thank you

I tried EFASS but it does not (yet) take into account the various odd/even and eastbound/westbound rules when calculating cruise level.

It also seems very orientated towards online flying, but the fact that it is online "friendly" and doesn't respect the FL rules seems to be a bit of a contradiction!

It would help if you said what aircraft you fly. For Boeing and Airbus PFPX is excellent. They have a discounted price for it at the moment... http://www.flightsimsoft.com/pricing/

"Aerosoft’s NavDataPro will support EFASS from cycle 1402? " and they are switching from navigraph and that means an extra expense
