AI Traffic %

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

My current AI Traffic % is at 70%. However i think i am going to lower it and i am wondering what other % people have their's on?

Kind Regards

Ryan

Probably depends on the AI program.  I have MyTrafficX and the developer recommends 20% so that's where mine is set.  At most major airports, I have almost all of the jetways occupied because I did not activate any schedules.  If I activate a schedule, traffic goes away even at 100%.  I think that's because the aircraft are enroute to the airport based on the flightplan in the schedule.  So, if you sit around long enough, the aircraft will fill up the airport.

When I used MTX, I had the sliders at 40%, because - as Jim already stated - the developer recommends rather low settings (obviously I missed the part where 20% is recommended).

However, I don't use any AI addon at all, and hence have AI switched to 0% (since you asked) - GA low and slow over photoscenery is enough to keep me occupied during my flights lately.

I am using WOAI.

I think i will reduce it to 30% (Half way between you two) and see how i feel with that.

Thank you for your reply's.

Most FSX Tweaks recommend 12% to 15 %. It depends on your system and how it handles the extra workload of increased AI traffic. I've found,on my system 20% gives me a happy medium of realism without performance sacrifice.

I use UT2 @ 100%, but I think that this is a bit different to other AI Traffic packages. I have been told that around 30% is more like real world traffic volumes in the likes of My Traffic X.

Jim,

They are already activated once you include Mytraffic in your scenery.cfg

Did you mean that you did not run the compiler again to generate even more traffic ?

\FSX\MyTraffic\Scenery\MyTrafficclosed.bgl
\FSX\MyTraffic\Scenery\Mytrafficcommercial.bgl
\FSX\MyTraffic\Scenery\MytrafficGlobal.bgl
\FSX\MyTraffic\Scenery\Mytrafficmil.bgl

I use UT2 and set the sliders at 100% for commercial traffic, but 45-50% for GA traffic.  Any higher on the GA slider and flying around aircraft rich areas results in not being able to answer ATC calls.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

I don't use the GA traffic in UT2 at all. It would be nice to see some Kingairs and Cessnas flying around, but those Maules and other taildraggers just annoy me.

Airline 20%, GA 10% with MT2013 - enough immersion and no issues with "go around because we let him land in the same time as you"

No.  You can use My Communicator to go on the website and select different schedules.  If I select one of those, I lose traffic at the airport.  If I just let those .bgl's you referenced run, then I have a lot at 20%.

I must be doing something wrong, I run my AI Traffic at 80 - 99% with smooth frame rates. I run OpusFSX, REX textures (clouds at 2048), previously WOAI and now UT2 also 737 NGX at UK2000 V3, FSDT KLAX and Mega Airport Frankfurt. Is there something else you guys are running that you have to run a low percentage of AI?

I recently set all my traffic at 0%. AI is much too big on Artificial and very short on intelligence. Besides the performance gain without it is welcome.

After the initial withdrawal I haven't missed it at all. I spend most of my time flying.
