Questions For Early Phenom Pilots

Featured Replies

Somewhat disappointed that they haven't improved the quality of the systems. After being in development for so many months, and after posting an album labelled "New Weather & Systems Testing", I expected some improvements in that area compared to their previous aircraft.

There are improvements. They're just not what the people prejudiced against Carenado's current work are focusing on. They're pretty extensive, in fact. Pick up the real Prodigy manual and compare, to see.

Anyone else think this thing is under powered? I was running 70% just to get a decent taxi speed out of it. It flies fine but lacks ground performance.

Read the specs, set the throttle to TO/GA, raise the nose at VR. Just like any other plane. The Phenom flies fast once it's spooled up, but takes off and lands at surprisingly low speeds for its weight; an interesting little jet.

Try getting an FSX F15 Eagle and landing it by comparison. ;)

The problem some of us have with the Auto throttle is because the real Phenom does not have one.

Just a question of realism vs a pretty set of flying textures based on the default aircraft.

Some are happy with that and good luck to them, each to their own.

That's hardly an adequate representation of the efforts put into this add-on, for sure.

Those are the facts, you can hide from them if you want but the facts remain.

The Carenado has an auto throttle and no properly working FLC mode.

The real Phenom has NO autothrottle and DOES have a FLC mode.

It also has a takeoff config button and a working FADEC.

Do you work for Carenado by any chance ? LOL

With the non existent flc mode and t/o config button, I've got to say that I am loving flying this thing. A heap of fun to hand fly, great on the approach and heck she takes a great photo.

Enjoy.

I guess thats's the main thing for some folks

Mate it's one part of it I guess.

Each to their own hey?

Carenado might issue a service pack.....who knows.

Happy flying.

I found it exactly as you describe, but I don't know how a real aircraft responds so I can't remark on it.

I am a real world pilot I don't have any turbine time except a few hours in a C90 king air but I cant imagine needing 70% of N1 to taxi I know those are small turbine but something is amiss

This video shows a real phenom taxiing and taking off he only gets N1 above 50% once during taxi and pulls it back to about 35% I have to keep it atleast at 65%

I have nothing to do with flight simulation software development, no.

Although in the past I've worked with "Wild Bill" Stealey, Andy Hollis, the guys who did Longbow and Longbow2, knew Hugo Feugen, was on the test team for the original Falcon 3.0, and that was all a long time ago. :).

You?

With the friction ground roll lua script in fsuipc (don't remember exactly the name) the task is much easier btw.

Can I get a model of her for my plane? :)

......

Can I get a model of her for my plane? :)

Sorry.  That only comes with systems-deep models like the F1 Mustang, King Air and PMDG planes.  The pinup versions are also included with select A2A models.

Carenado only does the "light" versions, so you'll have to settle for this:

All in good fun,

I am not needing to exceed 54% N1 to begin taxi. 36% N1 keeps her rolling.

Wow lucky you I need atleast 70% to get her started and 65% to keep going I know the breaks are off
