Slightly disappointed about the proposed pricing for PMDG products for P3D. €60 was a lot of money for me to fork out last September/October for the 777X and you're suggesting a price increase and I'm not going to be able to afford it, not to mention the buying of P3D as well which costs a fortune. :(

I understand that you have to pay the bill to get licensing for it but to me, I can't justify paying another possible €80/90 for the same product but on a different platform

I think you might have to buy the PMDG 777-200 and the Sp1 and -300 will be free so you can just download it but you will need the -200 first. HOPEFULLY this is the case for the -300, or else I wouldn't afford it either:)

300ER is an expansion to the 200LR. If you want the 300ER you need to buy both 200LR and 300ER. It's always been that way.

Only the SP1 is free, not the 300ER.

You don't pay for the product, you pay for the license to use it.

P3D licenses, bot for the sim itself and for the add-ons it contains, cover a very different user group. FSX is entertainment only, P3D is pretty much everything BUT entertainment.

Their licensing costs are probably pretty high, they need to recover that money some way or another, they're not a charity.

So either they do a cross licensing stunt, and make all the add-ons for everyone more expensive in the future, or they do the right thing: let the P3D users pay for the license they're using.

but unfortunately this plan had to be shelved because I will be out of circulation due to surgery to fix an ongoing infection that has had me hospitalized numerous times during the past three months.

I've been trying to tell folks I was pretty sure you had a good reason, but some just wouldn't listen...

Be sure to get well soon. I'd rather have the SDK sooner, but I'll support your health in the first place - no RSR means no PMDG, at least as we know it.

Anyone interested in P3D as their simming platform should understand that licensing for our products on P3D will be significantly different than it is for FSX- and this is just a fact of life.  We will not be making a cross-platform license- you will have to purchase a license specific to P3D, and it will be more expensive than the entertainment license available on FSX.

Cue the posts of "PMDG is just out to make a quick buck off of simmers, they must be in terrible shape financially!

PMDG Development for Xplane:
We are nearing completion on our first project for Xplane!  As we have previously mentioned, this project is designed to be a development catalyst to help us learn how to work with that platform more effectively- and it has been a great exercise thus far.

We will be unveiling the project sometime in the next 60 days (estimated) and we will also announce the second project for Xplane at that time...

This makes me very very happy.

In the meantime, we are happy to announce that Alexander Metzger will be Guest Starring on the PMDG DC-6 development team- and we are happy to have him working with us on this great, historic airliner!

PMDG and Alexander Metzger, a match made in heaven! Now I'll have to buy the damn addon.

No, it won't. Read Rob's post again, especially the part about pricing. (And while you're at it, the part about the extra moderators )

Most importantly:

Screw SP1, for now at least, the priority is for you to get better now, Rob! Best of luck!!

Thanks for the very honest update, some exciting things coming up in the near future! Apart from the 300/SP1 i'm really interested to see what the x-plane project will be...

Good luck with the surgery and recovery too

If I understand the original message correctly:

"The 300ER pricing will be set shortly, but it is expected to be in line with the way we have priced the expansion of the PMDG 737NGX product line expansions..."

NGX 800/900 70 $ (incl free SP)

600/700 expansion 25$

in line means to me:

-> 777-200 90 $ (free SP)

300ER expansion 30-35 $   (says my crystal ball)

seems ok for a high quality product... even if for one plane you pay more than for the whole Sim

but i am not pmdg and might be completely wrong.

On P3D... too many things going on out there, i am not yet jumping on that train.

Feel better soon Rob and good luck on the surgery. I promise I won't fill your inbox with reports too much....
