Courage and good luck on your surgery .... Mr. Robert SP1 to wait, and thank you very much for all this information.

Awesome sweetness and epicness.

All the best in the surgery and recovery

I know some characters around these forums will have egg on their face for being so harsh about the delay of the update. And they should feel bad for criticizing without any inside knowledge of what's going on.

Poppin' open a cold one for you RSR! Here's to a speedy recovery.

Can't wait for SP1 and the extra moderators.

Prayers for a successful operation and a speedy recovery, Captain!

I am going camping with my son next week, so I don't mind the delay at all.  It will be nice to enjoy some time away with my son, and then come home looking forward to this new bird from PMDG when we get back.

Warmly,

Chris Parrott

Here's to a speedy recovery Rob! On the topic of additional moderators here I sure hope Kyle is one of them. I'd be hard pressed to think of anyone more deserving with his wealth of knowledge.

I would agree as well.

Great set of news. but first of all the best for the upcoming surgery. Health is very important :)

Get well soon Robert, and kudos for taking the necessary time to get the SP1 properly finished before releasing it!

Thanks for the update. Your health comes first, take care of yourself and have a speedy recovery!

Thanks for the update.  Nothing is more important than your health which absolutely comes first as far as I'm concerned.  Get well soon :-)

Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)

This is a public message for Capt. Rob Randazzo.

First, I suspect I echo the sentiments of all PMDG customers (and loyalists) by saying a resounding thank you for all you have done for our community.  I also suspect that it is not lost on you the changes that this (I hate using the term "hobby") segment of the aviation market will undergo in the coming years and months.  PMDG is on the cutting edge of this and the growth that will come to your company as a result of those changes, while welcome, will bring their own challenges.  In this, you have my personal thanks and best wishes for support as you move forward.

All this said, I will give you one admonition: Take care of yourself first.  I put off my own surgery for far too long and having just undergone my fourth cervical spine operation and my second cervical fusion, the relief I have as a result has me asking the question, why the (insert favorite expletive) did I wait so long?  I have one week to go before I start my physical therapy and will be at least August before I can fly my simulator again, but the fact is I will, because I have taken the steps necessary to do so.  I wish you well with your surgery and that your recovery is swift and without complication.  We all need you back at the helm of PMDG and lead us to the next generation of flight simulation (and training).

Godspeed and all the best,

That's marvelous news. And Robbert, take care the coming times! ;)

Oh, by the way ... where's the application form for PMDG to participate as 'The Netherlands'! :D

Robert, thank you very much for the update on Service Pack 1. Lots of interesting things coming up which still leaves those things you normally don't mention in such posts. And those haven't been boring at all in the past.

In the meantime, we are happy to announce that Alexander Metzger will be Guest Starring on the PMDG DC-6 development team- and we are happy to have him working with us on this great, historic airliner!

Great news, Alexander Metzger has done a fantastic job in the past and present on flight dynamics. His name in the team is like seal of quality for flight dynamics. I hope the term guest changes into something with a more long-term meaning.

Best wishes to you Robert and a good and fast recovery.
