17JUN14 - Scheduling and General Updates

Recommended Posts

Great news! Hope you get well soon!

A consideration I think some people would agree to help.

If the P3D top issue today is to pay the license, why don't you make a pre-order or a donation program and give some benefits for beta program etc?

I would love to help the project to get into P3D2 and XP10 quickly :)

Thank you for the update.  A little bit of good news mixed in with mostly troubling news.

Regarding the changes to forum moderation, are there any plans for PMDG to set up a dedicated forum so that PMDG customers are not required to visit AVSIM to get support?

Why do I have to find your opinion or anyone else's on this forum?

This is the PMDG forum and therefore it should only contain information relevant to the PMDG products, real aviation, support, guides, etc..

You want RSR to know what you think of how does he run his bussines? Send him an email, you might even get an answer... But what do I care?

Why do I have to read and filter the relevant information among dozens of posts like yours and their respective answers?

The fact is you are not even talking about anything aeronautical, you just found an excuse to judge RSR and PMDG for things that we all have known forever that are beyond their control. You just think that you have something very important to say and that we need to read it. I think you should join your pals in a pub and talk to them about what you think of things more often.. Thats the right place for rants and the kind.

I'm not saying you are right or wrong, it just doesn't matters. Just go somewhere else with them.

I feel you guys either do not remember or don't even know who RSR and PMDG are. RSR engaged in making a dream come true for the MFS fans a long time ago: Making the most realistic airplanes possible within the limits of MFS and average household economics. And he (they) have delivered brilliantly. Many people assume PMDG and their airplanes as a given, well, you should have been here the long years when the default airplanes were among the best you could have and

When you love what you do is very difficult to draw the line between the personal and the professional role and RSR is no exception. There was a time when people knew when RSR was talking as another aviation lover and when he was talking as a company manager and we all respected, accepted and enjoyed each as it was. But you guys seem to have a problem understanding that,. Just because you can talk to the boss doesn't mean he is your buddy and you all can speak your minds like you hanged out together every evening.

I hope the changes bring an end to this.

Watch this to the end, and draw some conclusions.

Robert,
Let's get this right, on a personal note, I wise you well with your on-going problems and hope this time the problem is sorted out for good. Best of wish's with that.
Heath comes before anything, sure as hell before a SP1.

----------
@PMDG
I wonder about where your going with forum Moderator's.
If some one is rude fine but where are you going to draw that line?

How about, you say above the DC-6 as been "stalled a bit" ...abit! like over 2 years, is that what PMDG calls a "bit" or how about the video when you was over here in Europe and gave a talk about how the 737 ng was 1 1/2 years late because it was a building module for the 777 and the 747 and explained that the development time could be cut down to as little as 6 months! . All them vid's are now removed from the net apart from the one on your web site showing the NGX coming this summer....O well 14 months later, but you did not say what summer did you :)
I could give a lot more examples of PMDG "hints" when we can expect something and when we really do get to see something.
If you want to stick by " it's ready when it's ready" fine but pls the hints are...well miss leading even with the caveat above.

So am I being rude?

No I'am not, truthfully, but lets call a spade a spade. I hope as long as the point being raised are good points we are free to ask. I hope your not going to turn this forum into a scenery design company forums where if your not blowing hot air at them you can get banned. They word it, "there not running a dating site..." They were more than happy to get as much traffic as possible when growing, how things have changed.
I hope your not going down the same route?
All I ask is for updates, I don't care if there boring to read it just keeps us in the picture.

I hope the 4 weeks to SP1 doesn't turn out to be like the classic " We hope to have the DC-6 in your hands very soon"(Date feb 2012, or was it 2013?) Anyway you get the point about "hints" I hope?

Thanks for the update.

I hope your surgery and recovery go as smoothly and painlessly as possible.  SP1 and the 300ER can wait!

and here we go again

someone complaining about someone else complaining

this is why we need more moderators...

let the guy complain, it s his right as a customer, the moderators will move the subject if they need to.

'Why do I have to read and filter the relevant information among dozens of posts like yours and their respective answers?'

well, this is the whole thing about not to get lost on the internet... learn to filter the relevant information

Dear Robert,

thanks for the update!

Take your time for fixing your health. In the end, there is nothing else that matters so much.

Remember that PMDG is a relatively small company, and not one of those larger ones where the CEO or owner essentially transitions to a figurehead.

Being a member (particularly when that member has his or her hands in the product development) down right after a pretty significant release is never a good story.  You're just asking for trouble.

Thanks Max. I've been trying to tone it down recently, or at least keep it aimed at those who I know won't be offended by it (usually Luke, Aaron, and a few others). Knowledgeable might be a good thing, but if people are turned off by the sarcasm, then it should definitely change (at least until they've been around for a while to get used to it - which reminds me of a funny story about me meeting my sister-in-law, but I digress...).

Nooooooooo!

Not "until they've got used to it". Toned down permanently please, for all, or you will be back to square one.

I can see another data burst is required. Charging my positronic emitter now. Going for max power this time, hence Kyle's positronic matrix will either properly realign of simply self destruct.

Hello Robert:

All those news are pretty good news indeed to the big PMDG community, a tick over the moderators in the forum and thech support, and, of course, the plans to develop new projects, whichever are these,  sure will be very welcome with the passion and attention to details that made PMDG grew over time.

But most importantly is health. I personally wish you well in the surgery and hope you will recover from that soon and well.

Good luck my friend, sincerely,

Artur Washton.
