P3D V2.3 Beta 2 Testing

Featured Replies

Confirm that A2A light issue is fixed ... well sorta, I had cycle thru the landing/taxi lights to get that glow effect to show.

I'm not sure I'm getting this, did you have to cycle through the strobe light twice to get it to work?

I have i question for u. Are you install beta2 on fresh 2.2 or on beta1?

Adam Breed provides detail instructions on how to install beta 2 - your answers are there, suggest you re-read his thread in the Solution Developer Questions forum for beta testers.

Per my original message, I cycle the "Landing/taxi" lights  (as in toggle the landing and taxi light switches on/off/on) and they work after I do a complete cycle.  The strobe, beacon, nav, and landing/taxi lights are all working per my video.  There is no longer a need to reload the aircraft to get them to work correctly.

As for questions about AA, watch my video and decide for yourself if it meets your goals.

Cheers, Rob.

Has this glitch existed before or did it surface with this beta?

Incredible fog effects.

Yes they are very impressive and not "flat" either, they have "character" ... and given my graphics settings, add-ons, time of day, and location, I was simply amazed I could get 25-30+ fps flying thru the fog and above the fog.

Cheers, Rob.

It existed before.  A2A also warn about using the landing light effect in the installer ... something about mouse not working ... I've never had that issue myself.  A2A produced an interesting effect and it can look good in some situations ... but for day time running with clear sky it may look a little odd.

For some people, 3D lighting caused missing clickspots. That's why they made it an option for the Skyhawk and removed it from the Cherokee.

If they're not already aware of that landing/taxi light glitch, can you report it to them? I wonder if this is caused by Prepar3D or it is a problem that has to be fixed by A2A.

Thank u, Rob! I installed successful! It`s work now...

AI Aircraft lights are now fixed ... tested in several views:

Rob, thanks for testing this! Do you know if the Cherokee's landing and taxi lights were also fixed, so that they illuminate the scenery from the VC view?

That is very good news! Thanks for your video . . . loved it. :)

If you get the time, I would love to know if the FS9 windsocks have been fixed (so they work in Orbx scenery).  Also, have you tested the Anisotropic 16x bug yet? If you don't have the time, I totally understand, as I'm sure that you have plenty of things on your list that you need to spend time on. Your reports here are VERY much appreciated!

It wasn't a P3D problem, the Cherokee has never been able to illuminate scenery from the VC view, not in the sense that Lotus Simulations first innovated, or like you could do in the Cessna from A2A. A2A never actually included that type of lighting in the Cherokee, they dropped it because of problems with clickspots stopping working in the VC for a minority of users who used that option in the C172. I hope that they bring it back as an option in the first update that is coming for the Cherokee.

Cheers, Andy.

...and when will those lazy ORBX avatars fix my dinner! :dirol:
