V2.3 is Released Woo Hoo

Featured Replies

I think I figured out what went wrong

I still have P3Dv22 on the original partition, it was copied over to the new speedier SSD, and the drive letters exchanged (though I think i would get away with it with FSX)

I just now renamed the drive letters to what they were originally when I first installed V2.2, and now the patch is slowly installing to the old copy that was  not deleted on that HD

I guess LM uses the original HD source and not the drive letter

Knowing this now, it prob is best to remove P3Dv2 from the older original HD via an uninstall routine,

then doing a fresh install of the v2.3 onto the SSD and re-entering license info

sorry for confusing you Rob, but this info may come in handy some day with someone else that did a similar switch-a-roo trick

Something tells me this is going to be a long thread

We're gonna need a bigger boat...

FSUIPC crashes

Did the "Computing Space Requirements" part take a while for anyone else? Been a couple of minutes now and it is still just sitting there. Task Manager shows it hasn't crash, or no "Not Responding" message.

does the latest FSUIPC from Pete work with 2.3?

Not sure but it usually requires an updated module.

The Estonian Migration Tool generally requires an update after a point release.

In the past both have been updated pretty quickly - within a day or so.

Yep confirm FSUIPC crash

I took Robs advice (without testing it before - so can't say if it was necessary)

No crash with initial start.

Crash then as I copied back my old DLL.xml

Started to search, which entry causes a crash and it is definitely FSUIPC.

Bad thing is: as with every release, Pete Dowson is on holiday   :P

Ya me too...does the latest FSUIPC from Pete work with 2.3?

Nope..

Edit to my comment above - they're usually updated within a day or so, except in cases like this....  sigh...

That is a good sign, a sign of installing.....

OK, my personal conclusion, taking all of this (patches, version numbers, Pete-Dowson-is-on-vacation-and-how-dare-he!), stuff like that... :P

....my conclusion (note: mine: "applicable only to me", cf. "personal") is...

...that 2.2 isn't exactly broken or nonfunctional, maybe not optimal but certainly performing...

...so I think I'll just hang with it a couple more days 'til all of this starts sorting itself out.

As in so many things, your mileage may vary.

Enjoy!

Rich...I am sooooooooooo bummed out.  I can't un-install v2.2 from my system. I am trying to install 2.3 into the same 2.2 folder by the full install...and it is not crashing...but just sitting for 15 minutes at about 70-80 percent complete.  This...is not a smooth, pain-free upgrade.  Not at all. This SHOULD have been.

What the hell, LM?!?  It should have been able to be patched from the HOT FIX installation.  Like nobody was going to add that?!?   Not cool.....

Good Idea.....for this has not gone well.  I think that I will have to bring back my SYSTEM IMAGE, and be done with it.   I guess that I can stay with 2.2 as I can't seem to un-install the ))@@@ thing by their own v2.2 un-installer script!   Not happy.....  Their full install 2.3 installer is hanged at about 80 percent of its travel bar. What a joke.....

Simmers making things complicated?  Nah... that'd never happen...  B)

???

NEVER we is purfect

Not going to touch this update, especially after I applied the hotfix and now I need to re calibrate the Flux Capacitor in order to get 2.3
