V2.3 is Released Woo Hoo

Maybe different addons that I have not tried - that could be the reason

It must have been my imagination (or maybe it was just the A2A aircraft, which seem to be set up on purpose so that you have to start a mission on the ground from scratch). The PNL files are only for transferring missions among multiple computers according to the learning center.

Mr. Dawson to get back from vaca... after all this happens I think we are going to be in for a treat!

Pete sent me a new version of FSUIPC to test something in RC4 (which have been remiss in doing, because I went on vacation and then got caught up in other things). It is version 4.934f and it works with P3d 2.3. He posted in Rob's 2.3 beta thread that he is on the LM beta test team for P3d, so he will probably upload a new version when he returns from vacation.

Good Grief! I had just upgraded to 2.2 and finished with everything at 11:30 Eastern, today, no kidding, TODAY. Like a fan of Star Trek, I think that I'll stick with the even numbers so I'm waiting for 2.4 and then some time for third party catch up.

I did notice that Carenado phenom did not save flight plans - but CS777 and AXE did save them

I tried the patch but was getting errors (the only addons I have are Orbx, everything else is stock). I uninstalled P3D 2.2 and did a full install to 2.3. The only thing that doesn't work immediatly is Track IR... not sure why, but I know how to fix it. (Run SimConnect). After that... everything worked.

v2.3 looks great. The dusk time lighting is beatuful (better than v2.2). The water is so much improved. Not perfect, but, still very good. Recreational boats skip along in the waves and look great. Everything is just "prettier," particularly at dusk lighting. Performance seems good, although I just went to Win8.1, so everything is new.

Rich...I am sooooooooooo bummed out.  I can't un-install v2.2 from my system. I am trying to install 2.3 into the same 2.2 folder by the full install...and it is not crashing...but just sitting for 15 minutes at about 70-80 percent complete.  This...is not a smooth, pain-free upgrade.  Not at all. This SHOULD have been.

What the hell, LM?!?  It should have been able to be patched from the HOT FIX installation.  Like nobody was going to add that?!?   Not cool.....

Mitch - you ARE using the LM uninstall and NOT the windows uninstall right? LM says to run the original P3D install and select uninstall. Then remove the specified folders. Then reinstall.

There's a PDF file with install methods in he same area you d/l the patch.

Hi Vic...yes...I did that as well, and got script errors.  Could not complete the uninstall. I have been trying to handle everything manually.  My new install (finally got 2.3 to run) is finding an old scenery.cfg file from 2.2, that I can't track down to delete....stuff like that. This has not gone as I figured it would...you know...an update file...you run it..and all is well. Not happy...but plodding along.  Thanks for suggestions.  It seems that you can not use any region or airport scenery from ORBX as the object flows in all of them will cause a CTD.  I'm in the process of reinstalling Global, Vector, Pilot2010FSX, etc.  Won't be installing any P2.x triple installer regions, as I don't think they will run in 2.3.   What a mess....

I downloaded the patch and installed it.  So far so good.  Flew around a bit in Virginia and the water looks much better, as does the lighting.  I think LM may have brightened up the HDR.  Anyway, off to fly more to see what I find with the new installation, but I am really liking what I see so far.

Glad to hear about (and see) the performance improvements.  Don't get me wrong - I'm really looking forward to getting this up and running.  Am just willing to take my time and arrive a little late if needed.  At minimum I need a compatible FSUIPC since I use multiple controllers and I need it to manage the different setups.

I figure I'll be a happy camper in a few days or a couple of weeks.

This is after loading the scenery and sitting on the runway. FSUIPC related?

I'm going to lock this topic to avoid confusion as I have moved Rob's guide for updating from 2.2 to 2.3 in a pinned topic in this forum. Thanks.
