I don't see this going any further than a novelty device.

Even if they do figure out a Kinect type control integration, it will have to be very precise and work exactly as you command it when you command it, or it will be nothing but frustrating.

Voice control, a la Multi Crew Experience, can provide a real, though partial, solution ... apart from the coffee mug problem.   B)

Strap on coffee mug?
 Intravenous would work, wouldn't it?

Besides how will I ever find me coffee mug???   .... the most important accessory for flight simming?

Thank you!  I have always maintained that.....!!!

Seriously?  75 FPS...I was interested in the OCC...but if the reviewer says you need around 75 FPS to pull it off....I probably won't see that rate ever in my life-time...lol.   Oh well.....

Make it so!

MCE allows communication with co-pilot, ATC, your own scripts as well as the mundane voice commands of controls, switches, comms et al. Effective for a wide variety of payware aircraft as well as default.

IMHO it, together with a HOTAS system, pretty much will cover most sim interfacing challenges posed by the Oculus Rift.

I had  the chance to try one out with WarThunder at the Gamescom lately...For DCS, BOS and the like I think its allready brilliant. Situational awaresness is like the real thing. The fuul dome but no "wonder-women-view". I also realised, I flew much more disciplined or "the real way". Dont no how to explain, but too long inverted and I was almost feeling the blood rushing in my ears. Just placebo, I know, but nevertheless the effect was there. And landings were a blast, because I could for the first time judge exactly when to start the flare. For the "coffe mug problem": *3D_Cockpits witch allow mouse-control combined with a hotas-system Is a way to go. For programming a FMS, I think the resolution is not (yet) high enough anyway. I will for sure buy one, because I want to have the best of both worlds. Its not hurting having this device besides a good screen. Much like my trusty TIR5, wich Im not using where needed. Cant wait....

If you would place the RW yoke and coffee mug at the same spot as where the virtual yoke and VC cup holder is, wouldn't you grab automatically at the right spot (without seeing your hands)? Just a thought, I have no idea what to expect with a Oculus.

I googled this thing - here's a great video I've came across

But it looks like you need 75 fps??  We'll never see that (at least steady) in FSX or P3D or XP10

I have DK2 too but I couldn't get the DCOC plugin to work. I followed the instructions step by step but it appears that all I get is to have a 2D window displayed in Rift. In DCOC instructions the step of right clicking dll.xml etc files to make sure they're "unblocked" in Property tab puzzles me. I'm running Win7 and when I right click the file I don't see a selection of "Blocked" or "Unblock" in Property menu. Am I missing sth?

DCS runs with DK2 easily, but the strong juddering/stuttering is giving me massive motion sickness. I can't stand flying more than 5 mins.

All in all, the display resolution of DK2 is still way too low. I also believe the petile OLED panel is part to blame. If you calculate, pentile 1080p panel only has 4M total subpixels (2M Green + 1M Red + 1M Blue), not that much more than 3x1M total subpixels from a 720p LCD panel used in DK1.

I don't think even 1440p in future CV1 will be sufficient. It has to be 4K but then we're running into the problem as how many PCs can push P3D @4K x 75fps at decent graphic settings, probably one in a million?

9950X3D / 64GB / RTX5090 / Pimax Crystal Light / Win11

Probably none unless in rural areas with balanced settings...

Mine ships out in about a month I hope. October is the next shipment. I have DCS and want to try it out in a few other titles, and hopefully have it work with P3D somewhat.

For the price it can't be beat really. The feedback on it is awesome, and I simply cannot wait.

That's a stupid video.  I'm within their range and I could make one of those myself if given the money.   People at all ages are at different levels.  Age has very little to do with what level you're on.
