First DLC soon

The first "DLC" addon:

Although an old product, it seems "right" to be the first DLC.

Well yeah, i would expect them to release arcadish DLCs now, and some of those from Flight1 too.

Looks like an very old product

A recycled software with recycled DLC. Makes sense. Would have been cool if they used this opportunity to introduce something new.

What did you expect? It's FSX on Steam. It's not a new simulator.

They have a partnership with Flight1, i assume we'll see those too later on.

Not that i think average avsim users prefer flight 1 product.

As i think dovetail will make dlc for their next flight simulator.

Not everyone is a senior flight simulator user. I only started about 6 months ago. I am sure there are many like me who started not so long ago and might be interested in a less daunting airplanes. I know some of the hardcore simmer likes the full simulation but I have to say that I am very intimidated by them. The amount of knowledge needed before you can start flying one is mind boggling.

I mostly fly the default planes with a few mods...

Still think they should have introduced something fresh that hasn't allready been released for FSX:MS.

Believe it or not those First Class Sim addons are worthwhile, as I received a copy of the aforementioned Around the World with my CH Rudder Pedals years ago and actually enjoyed the included flights and aircraft.

Oh my word..... I'm shocked at this...

With all the amazing add-ons out there, this is the first DLC ?   ..... what next, Abacus ?

An appropriate DLC for Steam users. Many of them don't have an FS background, and they probably would like to pick something up cheap and simple for their first payware addon.

I don't understand the dramatic undertones. What did you guys expect? $50 study aircraft for the casual flyer?

I really fear the realism of those new "DLC's"

i fear they're going to be arcadish because t's on steam. Half the steam community doesn't know anything about aircraft.

I got a friend who bought fsx:se.

He thought the default 747 was very realistic and it could prepare him to fly a real one......

the ultra realistic planes like how PMDG makes them won't sell on steam. I don't think most steam users really want to put this much into learning aircraft. They'd seem to rather be just flying around.

Most people I saw buying them told me "geez it ain't that hard this simulation is very realistic but you're exaggerating", and giving them the complete wrong image of this "game".

Most people I see flying prefer to just take off, fly a circle and "land"  (aka slam into the ground nose-first with 350 knots 200 feet next to the runway) while most real simmers do actual flights. I sometimes spend hours behind the screen, and people call me crazy for doing that.

The PMDG planes require pretty much time to be set up from cold and dark, plan a route in the FMC and actually fly the aircraft.

Most people don't seem to take that time.

I fear Steam is going to turn FSX into an arcade flying game.

nearly all my friends who also play Battlefield and Call of Duty also bought FSX during the sales, and they use it like a Grand Theft Auto flying game.

Its a introduction to flight simulator. Some of them will stick and learn more complex plane (like me) while others will not. It's all about choices. You know companies like A2A or PMDG will continue to offer simulation for more hardcore guys.

When i bought fsx in 2006 i too used it in an "arcade" way. Just throttle up and do loops with a 747. That´s a natural process. My interest grow and i started to use more sofisticated addons and in the process my view of the software changed from "game" to "simulator". Just give them time :)
